Those companies are a piece of work. If it was a legit program they wouldn't make it nearly so hard to get out of it. I see there are lawyers in Branson that specialize in getting people out of their timeshares.
We have owned at Westgate Branson Woods for about 13 years now. We did the every other year for about $13k. We paid it off a few years early and had paid over $20k. When we stay there I always put a sign in my car window that says “I am an owner at Westgate. Please feel free to ask me any questions before you buy”. I do this bc the salespeople there work on commission. They will say ANYTHING to make the sale. People don’t realize that you are buying a piece of property. So, there are all kinds of up front fees and closing costs. If you can’t afford those they will offer you the Westgate credit card. They don’t tell you that if you don’t want it any longer it is nearly impossible to sell. If it’s paid off you can donate it to charity. Or you can will it to someone upon your death. If you want to stay your whole week you have to book months in advance. Especially, if it is a prime time to vacation. Those weeks book fast! If you split your week it’s way easier to get the time you want. BUT when you go that 2nd part of your week, you have to pay fees of close to $200. Timeshares are great if you are an avid traveler abroad and have the $$ for it. Well, as long as you subscribe monthly to RCI. That allows you to bank your week and take someone else’s week wherever you want to go. Provided that week is available 😅. Sorry for the long comment. I am hoping that someone considering a timeshare will read it and know that it isn’t exactly what they tell you it is. Oh, and the tour is NEVER ONLY 90 MINUTES!!!
I'm really glad you wrote that. I didn't like the fact they weren't presenting the good with the bad and how they completely flipped when trying to cancel. It was an emotional roller coaster. The postal guy at the post office said he get's 10 people canceling a day and he knew exactly what I needed and how to send it. I have to give him major kudos. Great point on the 90 minutes. There were people in the middle of the presentation asking if they can wrap it up because it was going way past the time.
Ohhhh mercy!
❤️
Looks like they had a real blacksmith workshop
Been there and done the timeshare thing. Avoid those at all cost especially WestGate...
