Muizenberg means "mice mountain". There is an island off Perth, Australia called Rottnest which means "rat nest". I am spotting a trend. I lived in the northern suburbs of Cape Town. The southern suburbs (deep south) you visited is the opposite outskirts of the city.

Yes! He’s South African but we lived in Singapore for 18 years while he worked there (and 3 years in Seoul, Korea)
