I got the XL model when Eaglemoss was around and though it looked ungodly big. Like it became awkward to display it against all the other XL models. Then the regular size one came with master replica, and it looks way more balanced when displaying it against other ships.
What I wanted to see was the Cerritos swoop in to assist with support to either the Titan-A or 1701-D with Captain Boimler, and the rest of his Lower Deckers as part of his command crew.
the 2 large grey bars on the top of the ship is where the lower struts go thru the ship, measure it, and line them up, you will see they match, guess it adds more strength to the ship, with the struts thru it
What the model makers should also have included was that warp juice sucking creature that you see in the _Lower Decks_ intro. That would give you the option of putting on your model when you display it.
The design of the Cerritos grew on me as the series progressed. However, it still reminds me of the ship from the Alvin and the Chipmonks star trek spoof.
I'm glad you mentioned Master Replicas I hadn't heaard of it. Some nice stuff there I see. Cerritos is win, I love all the utility work horse ships like the Miranda and the Oberth, this feels like part of the Starfleet family.
2:34 I would think the IRL designer would be very happy to hear that as that does seem to be the intended reaction as apposed to awe of the Enterprises.
You’re welcome to have my XL ‘ritos, the stand is barely strong enough to keep it stable, it came with no magazine, and honestly the Parliament class runs rings around it. Worst 60 bucks I’ve spent.
I noticed this as well but I wanted it so badly that I finally bit the bullet and got one on Ebay. Cost a pretty penny for sure but I'm happy to have her in my collection
You could get the XL for weeks without problems just like the Titan (they had 1500 Cerritos units). Only the midsize was sold out in 15 minutes and never came back (got one).
I ordered a bunch of things from Master Replicas for delivery to Canada as well. I just had a BC-302 Daedalus delivered, plus a small Defiant and Borg Sphere. My order was $135, but shipping was $30, and import duties were another $36. brutal. I have an XL Voyager, Prometheus, and Enterprise-E coming in (eventually) but it's a pricey hobby to start collecting. The Cerritos does look so good, so might have to bite the bullet.
Same here... I was hit with import duties to Canada (BC) from Master Replicas' purchases. I asked the Cap on a live show, and he said he didn't get hit with those import duties on his Cerritos purchase! 🧐
@@Techsticle My first order was without import duties (to Germany). It was weired since it was shipped somewhere from Germany. But after a while everything came with duties... and i made alot of orders...
The ship is big but a bit less big than I expected, I could probably find space for it in my set up. Also I do wonder about the negative space in the struts, structurally.
The makes of "Strange New Worlds" seem to be a fan of the cut-out negative spaces as well...all I can assume is that the materials they use are so strong that even with the negative spaces (which may be there for aesthetics) they are STILL far more stronger than they need be. I mean, if you consider how *spindly* the TOS Constitution nacelles are...they probably have some pretty crazy strong - but also flexible - 23rd and 24th/25th century materials. Titanium, duanium, transparent aluminum, (clear steel?) etc...have to be pretty amazing materials. And heck, if they want, they could use transporters/replicators and synthesizers and nanotech to make some pretty insanely advanced materials....
i have the XL akira class on the way from master replicas FINALLY, the only one i desperately want next is the XL enterprise B, still waiting on master replicas to send my XL 1701 D and XL runabout.
I'm not sure I want to consider how much I've spent getting Eaglemoss stuff off Master Replicas this year... I went from 4 regular ships and 1 XL (all off amazon) to 39 regular, 3 XL over this year. I still have 1 XL and 18ish regular either shipping or on order. I skipped the Cerritos because I don't like the design, a bit annoyed because I decided too late I did want a Vancouver, but it was gone by that point. I do hope FanHome will make ships available for individual purchase and not subscription only, because I need a USS New Orleans to complete my Wolf 359 collection, and a Saber to complete my First Contact collection.
I managed to get all 5 ships from Lower Decks but have the mid sized Cerritos on display. It sits in the stand much better than the XL. I am worried the stand will break with the XL one.
Yeah that is my big issue...especially an "XL". I mean, in the first 3 seasons the Lower Decks crew sleeps in the corridor those windows run along. Also...no shuttle hanger decks!!
Ok, someone has to enlighten me... I feel there is not a lot of clarity online on this. Are new Eaglemoss Star Trek models being produced or not? First Eaglemoss has shut down. Then Master Replicas are selling their stock. Now XL Cerritos Eaglemoss exists... which is relatively speaking a new ship.. right? So whats up?
This is all Eaglemoss stock. The XL Cerritos was out before Eaglemoss shut down. Master Replicas only has a licence to sell the Eaglelmoss stock that was leftover. Some ships were produced but stick in factories so Master Replicas has been selling ships as unreleased. The smaller mid size Cerritos was one of them as well as the Vancouver and Yosemite shuttlecraft.
I was interested in Eagle Moss stuff but it was just too damn expensive. I could buy the Art Asylum/ Joyride Studio 'lights and sounds' Star Trek ships for the same price! And they're like 10 times larger! I also bought as many of the Micro Machine Star Trek stuff as I could. Not the best quality but a dozen starships for $25. 👍 Even looking at these XL sized ones... their quality doesn't seem to be worth the price, IMO.
I agree, I'm astounded Eaglemoss has such a following but I suspect it's just that nobody else is doing EVERY Star Trek ship ever in diecast so they're just the only game in town. I bought 4 once: TOS Enterprise, Enterprise B, Enterprise C, Enterprise D, and every single one of them had bent nacelles, sloppy paint, and one of them even had a nacelle that was just broken off in the box. All purchased brand new. They were honestly trash, and I threw them in the trash lol. I went and bought my absolute favorites from DST (Ent D, TOS Ent, Excelsior) and wow what a difference: nice display size, great detail, lights AND sounds...no brainer.
I get that they didn't want the Cerritos to be a state of the art ship of the line kinda thing but I really don't understand why it had to be so damned ugly! You know a ship is ugly when you can say an Oberth is nicer looking than it with a straight face. Love the show, hate the ship.

What I really need is a model of the Cerritos with the outer hull stripped off and the orange pressure hull visible like in the season 2 finale.

that is honestly one of the best looking Star Trek ships ever
I wasnt going to get it at first and saw it go out of stock then some cancelation happened and I pounced on it. Glad I did. Great model
3d print / resin print the space worm from the intro of lower decks and put it on one of the nacelles! That be awesome and quick laugh lmao.
Brilliant! They should have included that as an extra!!!
@@thethirdchimpanzee I agree 100% on that, a surprise edition in the packaging with the ship
The Cerritos is hard to get. Every time Master Replicas does a flash drop, the Cerritos is sold out before I even get to lunch break at work. 😢
I managed to get the mid size Cerritos version on a drop last month. Also the NX-01 refit mid size. SNW XL Enterprise
@@SteveODonnell Same here with the NX-01 Refit. It's beautiful. It's amazing how much the new secondary/engineering hull improves the NX design.

Looks like they are continuing the Eaglemoss tradition of misaligned paint.
It's Eaglemoss stock which was still in the factories. MR doesn't produce Star Trek, nore has the licence for that...
Good review. Nice ship!
Lol about the london tree. Typical. I guess that's why they did the rainbow coloured metal trees downtown 😂

Cool you’re not far from me! BTW I could never get the Ship to stay in the stand, so it rests on its nacelles. Did you have better luck?
My XL NX-01 and Mid size refit NX and the Cerritos mid size always fall off the stands anytime I bump the shelf. So annoying.
the nacelles look way better in real life when they dont glow everywhere^^
Didn't eaglemoss go out of business?
Where did you get that?? I thought Eaglemoss went away over a year ago.
He is eating tacos in California right now
If Sam was doing this he'd start with the box first and then end the video without showing the model.
