JNT not using Robert Holmes till Caves of Anndrozani was kind of a mistake I feel, but im biased and opinionated. I admit it. As you say, it was the on;ly time Holmes wrote for Davison but Caves works so well because the writer, director and actors are top notch , but it does have a ropey Bat lizard monster but its Doctor Who ffs, ropey monsters are one of our beloved tropes. And its in the dark unlike the Myrka from Warriors of the Deep.
No idea why Power of Kroll is so underated, maybe its a production thing/ Like Underworrld, its a solid premise let down by limits of 1970s BBC Budgets. Someone said it was like a Doctor Who Kaiju movie like Godzilla. It kind of is.
I am a massive fan of Robert Holmes.

It's very much like King Kong in places.
Many great writers have contributed to Dr Who, but Robert Holmes was the best of them all 👍
