It's terrible over there and has been for so so long, and the glee from the Israeli citizens and especialy from the settlers, as I've seen on footage, is part of an entrenched mindset that is devastating for the whole world to witness, and for the Palestinians who are dying by the hundreds daily.

I was raised a a Zionist and my experience was very similar. My first trip to Israel in my early 20s was shocking to me. I came back and tried to find everything I could about the reality of the Israeli state and the more I read the more enraged, horrified, and saddened I became...mortified that my unwitting support for Israel had contributed to the horror that Palestinians were living.

Set up a scheme to get cameras to Palestinian activists in the West Bank. Attended protests. Written umpteen letters and emails to politicians, etc. Talked to anyone and everyone about what is happening there... Basically, anything to get the reality of what is happening there into the public domain....

I am a Brahmin and a true Indian Nationalist and have always stood with the dispossessed and oppressed Palestinians since I first started reading about the issue in the 1980s. Mahatma Gandhi denounced Zionism as a Crime Against Humanity. Just as England belongs to the English now, and not to the Ancient Britons or Romans, so Palestine belonged to the native Palestinians and not to European Settler Colonialists. It was inhuman and unjust to impose the European Jews onto the natives. Zionism is all based on Lies, Myths and White Supremacist European Colonialism and Imperialism which views non-Europeans as subhuman and claims that Europeans have the right to steal their lands and their homes and then massacre them if they resist the Europeans [i.e. the true 'American (US) Way' as in the European conquest of the Americas].
Two important points to note here - The Palestine Tragedy is actually the creation of European Christendom and not due to any historical conflict between Jews and Muslims [see below]. Furthermore, the Nov 2nd 1917 Balfour Declaration was a cynical part of the anti-Jewish British Establishment duplicity and was a reaction to the Russian Revolution and its implications for the imperialist Great War in Europe and NOT an altruistic declaration [see below]. The roots of the Tragedy in Palestine actually lie in European Christendom rather than Judaism and Islam! The prevalent notion that Jews were uniquely badly treated victims of genocide is again Western propaganda. Look what Belgium did in Congo or the extermination of peoples such as the Tasmanians by the British. Benjamin Disreali's regime set up Death Camps for victims of the 1877 manmade famine in South India [which killed millions] which gave less starvation rations than Buchenwald for hard labour - killing 94% of inmates. In 1956 the Anglo-French neocolonialists tried to implement this aspect of the Zionist project along with the Greater Israel project of the Zionists - claiming on mythical grounds that all the lands between the Nile and the Euphrates belonged to the Jews [rather like China's false claims to lands]. Historically, Jews outside Christian Europe had not suffered persecution in the Muslim world (pre-1948) [something Greek Socialist ex-finance minister Yanis Varoufakis and Leftist Jew Barnaby Raine have stressed recently]. Palestinian Jews actually welcomed the Arab conquest and even facilitated it as they had been persecuted by Byzantine Christians. The Koran was largely derived from Jewish myths copied from the Jews of Medina and most Jews in Palestine converted to Islam to avoid the Poll Tax on non-Muslims - leading to the medieval Islamic-Jewish Symbiosis. There was little if any Zionist tendencies among the truly Semitic Sephardic Jews unlike the non-Semitic Yiddish-speaking Ashkenazi. It was the Christian Crusaders who had massacred the remaining Jews in Jerusalem! Jews had lived for 2,700 years in India without persecution by Hindu rulers [sectarianism is a problem of Semitic Monotheism with its absurd myths of their sect alone being the One True Faith - which Jews copied from Zoroaster along with other myths]. It was only when the barbaric Portuguese Papal pirates arrived with the Inquisition that Jews were burnt if they refused to convert. European Christendom was defined in Law as different in Blood from other supposed Races. I am beginning to realise that the reason Israel keeps repeating it has a "right to self defense", even when the response is somewhat off topic or doesn't fit the context of the conversation, is because they know Palestinian resistance is self defense, and they are subconsciously perpetually rebutting the question nobody says but is ever-present in their psyche, and what they mean to insist is actually "Israel has the right to self defense (too)". They know they don't, but they desperately need to believe it, and hope by repeating it over and over, it would become true.

But just a few moments ago I received a little notification that some comment I made, had been taken down, due to "hatefull speech" and that if I persist in being "hateful", My account would be blocked. I of course asked them to specify what the nature of the hateful comment was, since I really value civil exchanges. I guess I may have used the "G" word a litte bit too much. And maybe the "EC" word, along with the "Z" word. I usually use capital letters, so I can substitute an S, with a $. Capital I’s with a lower case L, which is l. And capital O’s with a Zero which is 0. It’s getting really scary out there, and it’s only getting worse. I think the situation coul drive people to Soviet era paranoia. Afraid to speak your mind at all, lest someone report you. If it gets that bad, I’ll stop commenting on UA-cam, and permanently delete my FB account, never to return. I don’t know if you’ve heard this or not, but if we let things keep going the way they are, the US will implement a social credit scoring system like China. Your bank account could be frozen for nothing more than having an “unauthorized” opinion online. My first taste of this was on FB, and I was banned from commenting for 30 days. This was because of my comment on some guy’s post about a pesky little drone hovering all over his property at around 12 feet off the ground. I know of the rich history of Muslim-Jewish relations throughout history & I have personally been positively influenced by that with my limited family experience. As a Muslim who stands for humanity (including Jews), for Palestine, it is important for me personally to hear "as a Jew for humanity," as otherwise the toxic one way PRopaganda of the "Empty Wagon" crowd is corrosive. People have forgotten how to be human. All those less than informed people baying for war have never personally experienced the horrors of it with all five (six, if you will) senses. I am Atheist, however, I will defend your right to your faith / creed / culture / ethis / orientation with my life. We have so much to learn from and teach each other. Culture is so beautiful, just ask before judging. Celebrate our diversty...don't hate. Hatred is a learned behaviour. We have a responsibility to our children and future generations to make sure they arent born INTO bigotry.
I think everyone of us should interact with different civilizations and learn their cultures ( even if it doesn’t equal our western upbringing) without letting what we have been taught interfere with this experience. Every Palestinian I have ever met has been nothing but warm and kind and welcoming. And it pains me deeply to see this Nachba continuing. I am of Native American descent, my ancestors went through the Trail of tears (our Nachba, look it up) and they watched their brothers and sisters die on a 1,000 Mile long Foot Journey from the Eastern Seaboard to Oklahoma. The Jews of Israel have human rights, but the Palestinians citizens of that Nation do not have the same human rights. The Palestinians of Gaza and the West Bank have no human rights. Nor a right for food, water, shelter, safety of any kind, in other words no right to even live.

We can only hope these wonderful young brave souls will be able to affect change from within. It's terrible over there and has been for so so long, and the glee from the Israeli citizens and especialy from the settlers, as I've seen on footage, is part of an entrenched mindset that is devastating for the whole world to witness, and for the Palestinians who are dying by the hundreds daily.

I was raised a a Zionist and my experience was very similar. My first trip to Israel in my early 20s was shocking to me. I am a Brahmin and a true Indian Nationalist and have always stood with the dispossessed and oppressed Palestinians since I first started reading about the issue in the 1980s. Mahatma Gandhi denounced Zionism as a Crime Against Humanity. Just as England belongs to the English now, and not to the Ancient Britons or Romans, so Palestine belonged to the native Palestinians and not to European Settler Colonialists. It was inhuman and unjust to impose the European Jews onto the natives.
Zionism is all based on Lies, Myths and White Supremacist European Colonialism and Imperialism which views non-Europeans as subhuman and claims that Europeans have the right to steal their lands and their homes and then massacre them if they resist the Europeans [i.e. the true 'American (US) Way' as in the European conquest of the Americas].
I'm a Humanist and scientist and I stand for the Palestinian people based on the November 2nd 1917 one page Balfour Declaration.
Two important points to note here - The Palestine Tragedy is actually the creation of European Christendom and not due to any historical conflict between Jews and Muslims [see below]. Furthermore, the Nov 2nd 1917 Balfour Declaration was a cynical part of the anti-Jewish British Establishment duplicity and was a reaction to the Russian Revolution and its implications for the imperialist Great War in Europe and NOT an altruistic declaration [see below].
The roots of the Tragedy in Palestine actually lie in European Christendom rather than Judaism and Islam! Contra myths believed by most Westerners, the Jews were only oppressed historically by European Christendom not worldwide. Around 523 c.e. a Jewish King in Yemen massacred Christians! Jews often had privileges granted by hated imperial rulers over native European peasants who lived in worse conditions than Jews. Normans brought in Jews to England to stimulate trade through usury and Simon of York became the richest man in England. The Medieval English concocted the Blood Libel Myth which spread across Europe. Russian Czars used the Jews to collect taxes off peasants in Eastern Europe and Jews lived in their own towns better off than the serfs stoking resentment. As Shahak (see below) tells - the Jews' own Talmudic anti-Gentile and anti-Christian hate ideology which the likes of Martin Buber and Hannah Arendt covered up in translations which make their tribal mythology appear Humanitarian.

[both are free online], that the Talmudic Hassidic text of the Habbad called Hatanya that is indoctrinated into the "IDF " settler-colonial vigilante army states: All non-Jews are Satanic, Worthless and have no Good in them. All Creation was made for the sake of the Jews. A recent YT video shows"Israeli children being taught to murder and enslave all Arabs' in an Orthodox primary school in Occupied Palestine.
Arthur Balfour who as UK PM brought in the Aliens Act in 1905 - the first restrictions on immigration to the UK to stop Jews fleeing the Czarist pogroms entering to the UK - hated Jews. In Nov 1917, after perfidious Albion and the French did the Sykes-Picot Agreement betraying the Arabs - promised independence by T.E. The anti-immigration and anti-Jew stance was hardly affected at all by the news of the Nazi Extermination of European Jews c. 1943 with the $5,000 [>3 times US annual US salary sponsorship needed for a limited visa]. In 1947-8 the British Labour government had become hesitant on Palestine knowing the backlash they would bear for their crimes against Palestine and stopped Zionist emigration to Palestine - but it was Truman, needing the US-Jewish vote, but not wanting a flood of Jewish refugees - to who blackmailed the Brits in the exceptionally cold winter of 1947-8 [when the seas froze and Britain faced food shortages and starvation] threatening to withhold Marshall Aid unless Britain let in more Zionist settler-colonialist immigrants into Palestine.
The early (non-Semitic)Yiddish-speaking Zionists [whose DNA usually shows no Ancestral Canaanite markers - hence the Zionist Entity bans Ancestral DNA testing and publication of results] came from the reactionary Orthodox Jews [who Shahak shows were the most backward and ignorant society in the civilized world] who did not want to be secularized and assimilated into modern Western society] offered to protect the Suez Canal for British Imperial interests [i.e. looting India of tens of trillions of dollars and killing tens of millions in dozens of manmade famine holocausts (search Jason Hickel India)] - including White Supremacist Winston Churchill killing millions of my fellow Bengalis in the 1942-3 'Bengal Holocaust' - the first racist genocide labelled a Holocaust- look up Gideon Polya's articles]. The prevalent notion that Jews were uniquely badly treated victims of genocide is again Western propaganda. Look what Belgium did in Congo or the extermination of peoples such as the Tasmanians by the British. Benjamin Disreali's regime set up Death Camps for victims of the 1877 manmade famine in South India [which killed millions] which gave less starvation rations than Buchenwald for hard labour - killing 94% of inmates.
In 1956 the Anglo-French neocolonialists tried to implement this aspect of the Zionist project along with the Greater Israel project of the Zionists - claiming on mythical grounds that all the lands between the Nile and the Euphrates belonged to the Jews [rather like China's false claims to lands].
Historically, Jews outside Christian Europe had not suffered persecution in the Muslim world (pre-1948) [something Greek Socialist ex-finance minister Yanis Varoufakis and Leftist Jew Barnaby Raine have stressed recently]. Palestinian Jews actually welcomed the Arab conquest and even facilitated it as they had been persecuted by Byzantine Christians. The Koran was largely derived from Jewish myths copied from the Jews of Medina and most Jews in Palestine converted to Islam to avoid the Poll Tax on non-Muslims - leading to the medieval Islamic-Jewish Symbiosis. There was little if any Zionist tendencies among the truly Semitic Sephardic Jews unlike the non-Semitic Yiddish-speaking Ashkenazi. It was the Christian Crusaders who had massacred the remaining Jews in Jerusalem!
Jews had lived for 2,700 years in India without persecution by Hindu rulers [sectarianism is a problem of Semitic Monotheism with its absurd myths of their sect alone being the One True Faith - which Jews copied from Zoroaster along with other myths]. It was only when the barbaric Portuguese Papal pirates arrived with the Inquisition that Jews were burnt if they refused to convert. As Sven Lundqvist argues in Exterminate All the Brutes - Western White Supremacism and Colonialism arose together with the Spanish Inquisition and Reconquista - expelling Jews and Muslims from Iberia. European Christendom was defined in Law as different in Blood from other supposed Races. This was closely followed by the Iberian Voyages of Discovery - with the Spanish Requirimiento where natives [unable to understand the message] were told that God gave the land to Spain and they would be killed and enslaved if they refused to convert and submit to Spain. The Voyages of Discovery were actually Papally-sanctioned Crusades aimed at raising funds for a Christian reconquest of Palestine [the supposed 'Holy Land'].
