Petition to have the option to change bgm in abyss, cause that's pretty much the only place where battles last long enough for the music to reach the good parts
Agreed. It would be awesome to hear any of the other battle themes in there given the battles last longer than the usual overworld enemies.

Theme 2 is hands down my favorite of the battle themes. I could be watching my team getting killed when you get around to the 5:25 and 6:40 marks, I just get hyped in that build up.
5:07 I was playing genshin normally with Yunjin but when I used her hold skill I realized that it syncs with this part

The climax building from 2:20 to 3:03 might be my favourite thing ever. The French horn counterpoint behind the repetitive motifs sounds so majestic and epic.
I hated this repetitive melody so much when i was fighting chicken mushroom boss at first. But then i think to myself "idiota , listen to the whole thing, they definitely hidden something good later". And they didnt disappoint me

I just love how “world-building” these soundtracks are. It’s almost like the entire teyvat at some point heard a single short tune and each region adapted that tune into something using their own instruments and it gets better and better every single time.
Yeah it's awesome how the Photon of Fluctuation leitmotif morphs according to the region, it helps give the sense that all of Teyvat is one connected world

This even gets better when you realize the parts that dont have the Leitmotif are the parts that are the most disconected from Teyvat (Chasm, Enkayomiya)

7:17 is one of the parts that never gets heard but is fire af, I am considering starting to play underleveled characters just to get to the end of these battle themes ingame.
It's pain bruh don't do it, I tried with 4 stars and Dvalin is painfully hard

@@Nell420 tried to fight Dvalin with my lil sis account yesterday, it lasted 20 mins, I got to see the Dvalin attacks that I've never seen before lol. I didn't know he would AOE the whole map ( yes, not a part, but the whole map) when his HP is low and I had to hover on the wind glider for the rest of the fight.

Ive heard it once, since I usually am too lazy to kill mobs in an area ive already been in, I just walk past all of em and they just constantly chase me until the next set of mobs spawn beside me and the battle theme just continues.

4:07 is my favorite. You can really feel like is fun to fight but threaten at the same time. Also it kind of remember me to Astaroth by Mago de Oz

honestly it's a curse being a genshin battle bgm, on one hand the bgm are the best in the game, but on the other hand, the actual battle either ended too fast or you're too focused on the mob to enjoy the bgm :')
Or the music too epic for the mob that you are fighting against. 1 single hillichurl aggro and throwing rocks at me while this music blaring in the background is kinda funny.
Use underleveled character for challenge and longer battle, or use low level artifact while exploring, I love doing it coz you also tend to missed seeing enemy skill and animation if you kill them too fast
I sometimes just wander around looking at spots i could go next while enemies try to reach me.
Use zhongli brah
Best way to enjoy the exploration is to shelve your abyss teams and play the game with underleveled or bad characters so you can enjoy combat in the overworld. For sumeru I shelved ayaka and Mona and pulled out lv 70 DPS fischl and collei. Worth

ruin drakes is the best I can think of rn flying and grounded ones tank a good amount, there's two elemental lawacurls up in a arena looking thing in the bottom left, lastly from memory there are a few ruin graders here and there.

Bloom is incredibly dangerous and will actually destroy you if you don't focus.

Theme 3 is the legendary Fibonacci time signature nerds are obsessing about right now. Signature changes every measure: 1/8, 1/8, 2/8, 3/8, 5/8, 8/8, 13/8, 21/8 then loops back.
as a muslim i absolutely adore this soundtrack, i had to listen to it in isolation and it's so good my family thought i was getting into our traditional music lol

There isn't even an event for christmas, that is an event more popular (as even non christians celebtrate it). It's a Chinese game after all. They do the lantern rite, and... That's pretty much it about the cultural celebtrations

You can hear different motifs from Inazuma, Monstadt, and Liyue in these themes. Interesting touch.
It’s because all of these themes share the same leitmotiv called “photon of fluctuation” at some point :)

Music is flowing and flowing and then SIKE, that traansition after 2:20 just happens and that epic melody sends chills down your spine... I swear Hoyomix are so good at this.
same, that transition is addicting to me. I can't fucking stop looping it. It's like some war theme to some tragic battle. My classical background keeps making me replay it XD

I find it interesting how most people love that transition, meanwhile to me it mellows the tune out. I get much more going to the stuff right before the transition or even after. The oriental instruments go much harder than the full orchestra in this case imo. I am losing my shit at 2:03 the most after that epic build up from 1:34 on ^^

In my opinion, this was the peak of Genshin music, can't wait for 3.1 to hopefully explore the desert with these battle themes.
From what I heard, the desert is gonna have a separate soundtrack so different ambience/battle themes

There are parts of it, like the forgotten kingdom in The Chasm. The Hidden palace in Dragonspine. Etc.

Genshin OST is really good at making some unusual(uncommonly heard) music grow on you. Not to offend anyone, the fourth battle theme was a bit weird for me(because of not getting used to this type of music}, but after hearing and hearing it again, i've gotten addicted to it and I've been searching for these type of music since. Something about it feels really different. It's commendable that Genshin has shown alot of different cultural music and it's awesome.
Oh that's interesting, cuz the fourth theme (you're talking about 12:17, right?) is actually among my favorites! Or to be more accurate: I love all the themes equally, except for the third. I feel it doesn't have the same energy or drama as the other tracks, but that's just my personal taste!
EDIT: OK, so, maybe drama and energy aren't the right words, but it just doesn't click with me, is what I'm trying to say. Even then, it does have its moments, so I think it'll grow on me
Its fine man, music from another cultures sound unfamiliar and thus awkward to most people, we have to listen more in order to understand what we truly like and dislike.

Despite everything, Yu-Peng Chen and the HOYO-MiX team came out on top every single time. The use of the Sitar has to be my most favorite part in the songs that use them.

they quite literally did not have to go this fucking hard with the music of Sumeru specifically . I don't really play gacha games or anything like genshin usually but this game is keeping me hooked rn simply because running around sumeru triggering fights but not killing anything has become my favourite pastime.
7:03 I feel an immediate sense of grandiosity together with some goosebumps when I was going through some Sumeru domains and hearing track 2's modulation to another key. Track 2 is clearly one of my favs.

Man, these battle themes have a strong contender now in Natlan. Natlan's battle themes are just as good, if not better than these wtf
Natlan ones are VERY good, even considering theyre still MIDI unfinished leaks. But it will be VERY difficult to top the sumeru themes. Lets see once 5.0-5.1 comes around as, the themes grow on the playerbase
I like Natlan themes, but I personally think nothing can beat Sumeru, I absolutely love Sumeru soundtracks
