Imaginative and thrilling
Oh, how I love Rach's 2-piano suites. He was young when he wrote this. I may get lots of details wrong here, but there is a line of truth in the story. I believe it was Vronsky and Babin (a truly great piano duo of the early and mid twentieth century) had an opportunity to play one of the suites (I think the first) for the composer himself while visiting the home of a mutual friend. Rachmaninoff had forgotten the music, and was completely charmed to hear it played by them. Can you imagine writing something like this, and then forgetting it a few decades later? He spent some time reminiscing about his younger days. I would love to have been there.
Hello -- i have never heard a better performance of the Rachmaninoff Suites for 2 Pianos than that by Vitya Vronsky and Victor Babin! You are correct -- when Vronsky and Babin met Rachmaninoff they first performed Suite No 1 for him. Rachmaninoff said "I forgot that I wrote that piece." Thank God that I will always remember this gorgeous composition.

When will the sheet music comes out?
This is the second piece from Rachmaninoff's Suite No 1 for Two Pianos, Op. 5, which has been in print for years. If you buy the Op. 5 score you'll get this. Any good vendor of sheet music should carry it or be able to order it for you.
