the cat is like 'hey man, I don't want to move, I'm happy here"....so comfy hanging out there, why sell if this is their dream home? Can they find something better? This is truly a great house, I would never leave till I'm too old to get around....
A work of art. Lovely that this couple sought to keep the decor authentic to its era. I really like how the home design interacts with the lights as the day goes on.
You have done an amazing job of carefully restoring this place, We saw this place for sale a few years ago as we were looking for a mid century house at the time but was too far away for us, but have since found a place near us near the New Forest and have restored ourselves, Cant believe you have done all that work and are selling!
Seven years ago they most likely purchased near the lowest point of the market and now in most areas still the highest market selling prices. They, like many, feel they must sell now instead of risking a drop again in the values. Just like us at almost 60, we are selling our 2nd home though we hate to but not getting any younger and the big profit surely will aid in our possible retirement some day.
My best guess is while they love and appreciate it their true passion is renovating, making a profit and going on to the next project. Clearly the work they’ve done is with care and whoever gets the house will have a masterpiece.
I hope this house will be bought by someone who appreciate and embrace the beauty and quirkiness of mid century home. I'm afraid someone will just tear it down because I understand that it's not for everyone and they might see it as outdated😔
What a jewel. I never understand, btw, why some people put their divans away from the view when they have one from which to sit across. Although I wasn’t paying attention, was there a fireplace?
I think I've always erroneously assumed that people who own houses like these would be automatically very happy people. I've only ever seen one family at a showing like this one where they seemed genuinely happy. It was a middle-aged couple with 3 teenaged kids. Looking back with the benefit of hindsight, I doubt it was the house that made them happy. It was just probably who they were. The rest I've seen all seemed paradoxically unhappy for people who were so apparently successful. 😕 Life is indeed a mystery.
I love the house but I think the idea of using furniture from the same period is kitsch. It's like a museum. I would prefer contemporary furniture within that framework and I think the original Architect would prefer the synergy.
That's what I think it looks like, a museum. I mean you really have to love MCM to want to live there as it is. I find it a bit oppressive. It is beautiful though. I also couldn't see what the couple did to it because they seem to have been gifted with 99% of the original features.

hermosa casa y decoración. Lo mas bello el gato.
Yes, such a beautiful cat!
That is a beautiful update to a mid-century house and is in keeping with the original. Nicely done.
Wow! Very tastefully done. Simply amazing!
Incredibly beautiful property!
very beautiful
Very beautiful. You can feel the love and energy they put into this home. I hope my next home feels and looks like this 🥰
Thank you for this soothing and inspiring tour. I very much appreciate the warmth and the expansive vistas.

Darling home!
mindblowing
I'm jealous!
Talk about finding the right person. It's not a buyer who gets it. Soulman gets this one.
Why, why are these people selling this masterpiece?

To afford the next masterpiece.
Kids have grown up and moved out.
Property tax is a bitch

Damn, it’s already been sold!😅 Lovely space

Architecture is never outdated
What a jewel.

kind to share this but, for me, way too cluttered.
3:03 I saw Jony Ive here.

Those are good windows. I don't like homes with small windows, that block out light and views. Hiding from the world is weird.

They did use furniture that was contemporary to the house as built.
I like Mid-Century, not Pretentiousness.
