NOW people do not know but...Jenny Pickett was on that squad at PITT & was NOT even QB #1..He was QB #3.. That PITT squad was terrible at 5-7 on season and Pickett could not beat out Ben DiNucci or Max Browne...

Kenny Pickett is going to be sacked a lot you watch and see. The o-line will let defensive men in to Sac Kenny. It's my belief is that the o-line doesn't want Kenny has their QB, running backs and wide receivers especially since their numbers will go down. The whole competition thing is stupid. Kenny was great in off season and the preseason last year. Games were a totally different story. I’m not sure how “competition” means anything. A strong backup who can replace Kenny if there is no regular season improvement is a more honest assessment.
I was feeling really positive about the o-line after the draft/free agency coming up. I have been convinced that this would finally be the season we would see a top 10 o-line and witness Najee's true potential and what our qb could look like when he isn't seeing free untouched pass rushers blowing by his center and left tackle. The competition shouldn't be about Kenny and whoever else they bring in, nor should it be Kenny competing against himself! The competition the Steelers front office should be looking at is Kenny vs. Burrow, Jackson, and Mahomes etc.! Can he realistically out perform any of them? The thing is, he really doesn't need to outperform them if we have a great defense and unstoppable running game. The problem is, that is not the case! Sure we have a good defense; when healthy. That is unlikely if the offense can't keep the chains moving to give the defense rest!!! We saw that last year. The running game can be great, but why does it take half a season, for things to click. We have seen this very thing the last 2 seasons! So Kenny needs to hold his own, especially against the above mentioned qbs he will face down the road! I’m Team Mason; I thought the team did him a disservice burying him on the depth chart for years. And there was nothing fluky about his performance over almost a quarter of a season.. it’s almost unforgivable; and I hope he finds a Starting gig somewhere. I’m also Team 4th quarter Kenny; and I’m willing to ride or die this season assuming: 1. Kenny has competent offensive line play with additions at C (JP-J) and RT. 2. Competent offensive coordination that unlocks Kenny for all 4 quarters. The passing game should take advantage of Deontae’s elite route running to move the chains, Calvin Austin’s unmatchable speed as a deep threat (keeping the safety out of the box), making teams pay if they don’t double cover Pickens, Darnell, Washington’s size and athleticism is a natural mismatch in play action.
Kenny is so bad that people think Mason is Tom Brady now. He was a back up for a reason. He’s decent but not a 17 game starter, he also played bad defenses. I’d rather him than Kenny the bust but either way it’ll be the same outcome. No superbow , No playoff wins.

Whether that means signing the best quarterback, free agent on the market or drafting the best quarterback that they can and just let the chips fall. No one on this team is getting younger. So Mason earned a better pay day. Rooney Wants Mason, The Players want Mason. This is the Steelers QB Room in 2024: Mason QB1, KP8 QB2 and QB3.Draft or FA. The Naked eye test: Mason has grown and developed the pocket presence and poise. Mason quickly reads his progressions and delivered the ball accurately to the correct read. I love KP8, he is solid. He has (7) Comeback from behind victories. KP8 wins 7-5 in each of his 2 years. KP8 issue is he is still growing and developing and he needs to follow the Mason path sit and develop and grow. The Steelers realize that KP8 has issues staying healthy. At the moment, he would be an excellent QB2 if needed. This is why we need better OL play. I know that Mason will have a monster season as QB1. Give him the entire training camp with these weapons and he will throw at minimum 30 TD's. He was spectacular in the Final 4 games of the Season. Forget the Stats! The Naked eye test: Mason had pocket presence and poise. Went through his progressions and delivered the ball accurately to the correct read. 86 Yd TD to Pickens, 69 Yard TD pass to Pickens on 3rd and 15. And a 44 YD Strike to Pickens on 3rd and 1. Then the 71 Yd TD pass to DJ on 3rd down against the #1 Defense in the NFL. Mason has arrived and is Legit!
KP shows no sign of being like a Bradshaw where five years down the line things come good, we are NOT building any dynasties here and we dont have that kind of time to waste.

If i'm a betting man, its going to be Center and RT in rds 1 and 2 (in whatever order). CB will be in Rd3. DL and a QB3 with their 2 picks in Rd4. They will handle WR and Safety in FA. The only question is when and how they handle ILB.
Im here for Kenny Pickett, yes he needs to be better, but lets be honest he was dealt a bad hand. Poor OC in Matt Canada, poor offensive line especially in Mason cole, who if you look at the tape its exactly where Kenny would run fro and do the spinny move, because he never felt comfortable in the pocket with Mason and I i don't blame him. Dan Moore is a bad left tackle, and Really the Steelers have one of the bottom 10 offensive lines in the NFL. They have to fix the offensive line ASAP. Also i want to see Kenny get a true #1 receiver because to me we don't have one. Pickens has talent but doesn't run great routes, Johnson runs good routes, but doesn't flash superstar player. All good qbs have a #1 to throw to and the Steelers don't have that yet. So i want to seee them get a true #1 Wr. And fix that offensive line then we can properly evaluate Kenny Pickett. Until then i won't bash a qb who's running for his life but still has the ability to be clutch in big moments and has comeback wins. Thats a positive that I'll take to grow from. You're not delusional unless you're expecting the Steelers to win the SB next year. Mason is an upgrade from Kenny. Kenny is awful. But it's not about getting to the SB next season. I don't believe Mason Rudolph will make the Steelers a SB contender, but do you know how the Steelers definitely DON'T get to the SB? By starting Kenny or wasting first round picks in a trade for Justin Fields (or signing some other QB like Wilson or Tannehill). They either need to get extremely lucky with a later QB in the draft or ride with Mason and try to get better until the right situation manifests. Pressing the issue will only set the franchise back. We need Mason. Let's win a playoff game before we start talking about beating Mahomes in the AFC Championship. And let's be real. I have been convinced that this would finally be the season we would see a top 10 o-line and witness Najee's true potential and what our qb could look like when he isn't seeing free untouched pass rushers blowing by his center and left tackle. The competition shouldn't be about Kenny and whoever else they bring in, nor should it be Kenny competing against himself! The competition the Steelers front office should be looking at is Kenny vs. Burrow, Jackson, and Mahomes etc.! Can he realistically out perform any of them? The thing is, he really doesn't need to outperform them if we have a great defense and unstoppable running game. The problem is, that is not the case! Sure we have a good defense; when healthy. That is unlikely if the offense can't keep the chains moving to give the defense rest!!! We saw that last year. The running game can be great, but why does it take half a season, for things to click. We have seen this very thing the last 2 seasons! So Kenny needs to hold his own, especially against the above mentioned qbs he will face down the road! I’m Team Mason; I thought the team did him a disservice burying him on the depth chart for years. And there was nothing fluky about his performance over almost a quarter of a season.. it’s almost unforgivable; and I hope he finds a Starting gig somewhere.
I’m also Team 4th quarter Kenny; and I’m willing to ride or die this season assuming:
1. Kenny has competent offensive line play with additions at C (JP-J) and RT.
2. Competent offensive coordination that unlocks Kenny for all 4 quarters. The passing game should take advantage of Deontae’s elite route running to move the chains, Calvin Austin’s unmatchable speed as a deep threat (keeping the safety out of the box), making teams pay if they don’t double cover Pickens, Darnell, Washington’s size and athleticism is a natural mismatch in play action.

I love KP8, he is solid. He has (7) Comeback from behind victories. KP8 wins 7-5 in each of his 2 years. KP8 issue is he is still growing and developing and he needs to follow the Mason path sit and develop and grow. The Steelers realize that KP8 has issues staying healthy. At the moment, he would be an excellent QB2 if needed. This is why we need better OL play.
I know that Mason will have a monster season as QB1. Give him the entire training camp with these weapons and he will throw at minimum 30 TD's. He was spectacular in the Final 4 games of the Season. Forget the Stats! The Naked eye test: Mason had pocket presence and poise. Went through his progressions and delivered the ball accurately to the correct read. 86 Yd TD to Pickens, 69 Yard TD pass to Pickens on 3rd and 15. And a 44 YD Strike to Pickens on 3rd and 1. Then the 71 Yd TD pass to DJ on 3rd down against the #1 Defense in the NFL. Mason has arrived and is Legit!

If i'm a betting man, its going to be Center and RT in rds 1 and 2 (in whatever order). CB will be in Rd3. DL and a QB3 with their 2 picks in Rd4. They will handle WR and Safety in FA. The only question is when and how they handle ILB.
Im here for Kenny Pickett, yes he needs to be better, but lets be honest he was dealt a bad hand. Poor OC in Matt Canada, poor offensive line especially in Mason cole, who if you look at the tape its exactly where Kenny would run fro and do the spinny move, because he never felt comfortable in the pocket with Mason and I i don't blame him. Dan Moore is a bad left tackle, and Really the Steelers have one of the bottom 10 offensive lines in the NFL. They have to fix the offensive line ASAP. Also i want to see Kenny get a true #1 receiver because to me we don't have one. Pickens has talent but doesn't run great routes, Johnson runs good routes, but doesn't flash superstar player. All good qbs have a #1 to throw to and the Steelers don't have that yet. So i want to seee them get a true #1 Wr. And fix that offensive line then we can properly evaluate Kenny Pickett. Until then i won't bash a qb who's running for his life but still has the ability to be clutch in big moments and has comeback wins. Thats a positive that I'll take to grow from. You're not delusional unless you're expecting the Steelers to win the SB next year. Mason is an upgrade from Kenny. Kenny is awful. But it's not about getting to the SB next season. I don't believe Mason Rudolph will make the Steelers a SB contender, but do you know how the Steelers definitely DON'T get to the SB? By starting Kenny or wasting first round picks in a trade for Justin Fields (or signing some other QB like Wilson or Tannehill). They either need to get extremely lucky with a later QB in the draft or ride with Mason and try to get better until the right situation manifests. Pressing the issue will only set the franchise back. We need Mason.
