There's something about the design of the Oxford world classics books that I love so much

Me too! I also like their high-quality materials, like the thick pages.

Hi Joshua. Some really great poetry collections here in this video. I agree that poetry written in grief can be extremely powerful and moving. Keep these coming!

Thanks, Helen! I will do so! I love Tennyson’s poetry. I think he has a reputation of being an old, dusty and outdated poet; but his poetry speaks to me a lot.

I didn't see my favourite, John Clare, the poor poet contemporary with all of those big names. I am one of those people nostalgic for the English countryside that was enclosed during Clare's time. Coming from a small farming area, here in New Zealand, that is mainly what I hanker for.
Thanks again, Joshua. Whilst making videos at least you aren't out in that biting Calgary cold.

He’s definitely a gap in this collection! I’ve read anthology entries by him, and have heard him described as a neglected poet among his contemporaries. From the poems I’ve read by him, they were delightful and full of authentic descriptions of nature. I can see why you like him, Mark.
Haha, yeah, I’m spending my weekend indoors, without a doubt. Thanks, Mark!

Those “Major Works” books look wonderful. I’ve never seen one.

You can always a trust a Penguin paperback to be a lovely book, can't you? I find OUP to be a little inconsistent in production values, especially with some of their hardback books - a pity. 'Idylls of the King' is such a wonderful read, a lot of fun, so dramatic & richly evocative, but I love narrative poetry.

Hmm, I’ve never owned any of their hardback stuff. Just the paperbacks, which I suppose are favourites of mine, judging by the frequency that they show up in these videos. Yes, narrative poetry is wonderful. I don’t know which I enjoy more - lyric or narrative poetry. Thanks for commenting, Phillip!

8:01 I recently watched this documentary short about Shelley on UA-cam, which was quite entertaining:

Ah, I love these kinds of documentaries. I remember seeing a couple of them before. Thanks for the reminder that they exist.
