Anybody who has followed cycling since the pre-EPO era, knows that the Jonas TT win was abnormal. When they announced Jonas had gained 49 seconds on Wout VAN AERT at first 7.1km check, I remember Sean Kelly saying that has to be a mistake. In 1990 mountain TT (similar difficulty in climbing per a KM), 13 riders finished within 2 minutes of the winner Breukink. However, in 2023 only 1 man could stay within 2 minutes of Jonas, and it was Tadej. There is a new undisclosed doping technology.
Disagree big time. Yes every body is on juice but with Jonas it was more about. In terms of conditioning peaking at the right time to explode. Thru out the history of sport we have seen performances like this. Just appreciate it. What humans can do when everything comes together.
@@oliverleigh9854 No we haven't seen them like this. Like at all. In any sport ever. That TT was science fiction. Add all the "marginal gains" you want, doing 7.5 watts on a TT bike on a climb for the entirety of it while remaining in the aerodynamic position is a performance not even a child could make up.
As somebody who grew up in Montreal in a French Canadian family reading Asterix and Obelix, I really chuckled seeing the Obelix reference in the video - it appears as though many athletes in cycling fall in the magic potion at one point or another - the anchovy being just one more in a line of many ... After last year's display I knew Pogi wasn't going to take it any longer and it was also clear that Pogi was going to need new Drs or a better "program" and look how he made his statement with that 81km solo attack early in the season. It was CLEAR then and there that he had a whole new "program" and it's only gotten more obvious with that display at the Giro. That display on stage 15 or 16 was BEYOND superhuman!!! There are probably overall riders who are clean, but the real winner of the TdF might just be the guy who ended up 40 minutes behind the yellow jersey overall.
The TT performance by itself was suspicious enough but the confirmation comes the very NEXT day when he almost wins at Col de la Louze in a monstrous climb, coming like a bullet from behind, dropping everyone on his way up and, if not for the moto bike incident, would've dropped Felix Gall and won the stage. BTW that was the 17th day of race....
Now its doping again?? 😂 You Pogadar fanboys are ridiculous. Netflix f.. Vingegaard and now everyone not following cycling regular is questioning him without any knowledge. Pogi has been the most crushing rider in all terrains and all races for years with raw power. Then Vingegaard crushed him in the most technical 22km TT ever and thats doping? 😂 Noone thinks about the week before that TT - Pogi was taking time on Vingegaard on 3 stages in a row. Look at the descent on this stage. Vingegaard is a Beast and absolutely fearless. Pogi has dominated much more than Vingegaard over the years. Vingegaard is more a Tour specialist. This will hopefully be an epic Tour again. Good luck to both riders. ♥️
You don't need dope to go downhill and Vingegaard crushed everyone on the TT downhill section. He also had better equipment, as did his team. Is Cervelo doping too?
Nutrition is making these extra fast times possible? The peloton is hammering for 170 km everyday at record speeds; nutrition? I don't think so. Time for cycling to come clean and just open the door to "chemicals making a better world." And give Lance back his stuff since he was just ahead of his time with the "nutrition."
Look at those bodies from the 90s. Indurain, Riis, Bugno. All big, muscular riders. The exact opposite of what science would prescribe as the ideal tour rider. Armstrong was closer, but Pogi and especially Vingegaard must be at least 10 kg down on those giants of yesterday. That's how you ride the mountains: without excess luggage.
Tadej looks sooo much stronger on the pedals than jonas, would say he's on a lot of different things. There haven't been many at the top who didn't end up getting caught. US TT champ Zwizanski is the only one I raced against who seemed to be legit, and he was only champ after years and the two ahead were busted after long investigations
Would love an open TDF, where everybody can dope, they only have to say what they take and how much. With new stats in TV with Testo and Epo lvls of the riders.
Ok but you watch Horner because you want to know about tactics or for entertainment Not for admíration to his career That’s what I want to remark. All good with CH UA-camr
One lesson anyone should have learned from Lance is to never deny in that way because it will always come off as "I think the doper doth protest too much". Case and point: @9:20
"I don't take anything, and I don't think that the rest of the peloton does either. Since I can win the Tour de France twice without taking anything, I also believe that everyone else doesn't take anything either." -Jonas Vingegaard Amazing.
That Time Trial was beautiful to watch but also suspicious indeed, since its logically much harder for a rider to temper and pace his unusual power in a time trial on his own than when surrounded by a a peleton
😂😂 there you are pal. How you doing? Are you trying to hide from me or what? I haven't seen you in any other channels for months. Didn't see you for any of the Giro 🤘🏻🏴
It's about time we address Pogacars remarkable rise since he joined UAE in 2019. His first season as a junior wasn't anything special, but we have to remember that he was born later in year (September) which is a disadvantage at that age. In his second season he definitely proved his talent by winning the Giro della Lunigiana. However, in the entire season he only won two stages and never put any distance on his competitors. His time trial abilities were less impressive. A 25th and 68th spot. His first season as a U23 rider wasn't too great either. He won a few youth jerseys, but didn't record a single stage win. His second season was definitely better, but still hit and miss. He won the Tour de l'Avenir, but didn't record a stage win. He also finished 7th at the WC road race. Promising, but not exceptional. Then he moved to UAE. Its CEO is Mauro Gianetti, possibly the dirtiest rider and sports director in history. Suddenly he started to win stage races (Algarve, California, and individual mountain stages in the Vuelta against the likes of Valverde and Roglic. He also became a much better time trialist beating Mohoric and Tratnik in the Slovenian championship. Give me a break.
Jonas beat Wout by 2'51" and his average speed was 3.3 kph faster. That's all the evidence of cheating I need. Tadej's time also strained credulity. Wout and everyone else in the top ten averaged 37+ kph, Tadej 39.260, Jonas 41.227!
Looking back on my cycling career, I realized I was racing against bike racers who were doping and they had all the success and where I was just basically a top 10 finisher. Trained and trained and did everything I could within the rules to become my best. Many hours suffering on the road. I wish I was either doping or just didn't waste my time on the bike and just been surfing all the time or something more fun with less frustration. Lance, Marty, Steve. All those jerks.
Haha.. the majority of the pro riders are doping. Especially when you look at their performances compared to the dopers of the 2000´s. Performances today are even better than the dopers of yesteryear. Give me a break!! Sure they train hard, have faster and more aero bikes etc, and lighter bikes, but there's lots of money in pro sports and sponsors want results. Just enjoy the show for what it is.
I know, the commentators kept talking about it being the fastest giro ever this year (2024), the fastest stage ever, etc. if they are breaking speed records from the EPO era, how can they be clean? I enjoy the racing now and I just assume that whatever is being used is accessible to all the top riders. I’d love to believe the riders are clean, but considering the history, it’s difficult. And when a 130 lb guy like Vindergaard is destroying a guy like Van Aert in a TT, it’s suspicious.
Look at every sport. Everywhere it got better. There is just also a lot of training optimization due to new research. Everything gets more professional. And they are testing way more than ever before. In the last tour. Visma and UAE had to take a doping control every day.
@@Infiltator2 In the 1980's players ran an approximate 4 to 5 kilometers per football game, today it's a little over 11... are all football players DOPED THE F UP?! No. People really underestimate how much you can achieve with science, full focus, and dedication
And Pog isn’t ? Because smashing everyone else even specialists in their own fields like TT and hill climbing by minutes not seconds is totally normal 🙄.
Well... in a TT or tough stage near the end of a 3 week Grand Tour, there are Imho max 5-10 riders going all in, typically those with a shot at the overall win, the podium or another jersey a few -- but not all -- specialists that still feel fresh enough to not just be among the top but actually win that particular stage.
Nothing suspicious at all about Vingegards domination in the TT. It was a climbing tt in the last week of the tour, which favors Jonas over Pog, plus Vingegard showed better cornering, and bike handling skills that also helped with the time gap. Plus it's not like Pog is a time trial specialist like Remco. Just look at his result at the world championship in 2023.
@@isitrachelorj3953 That's a bit harsh. If you think ill of adult film performers, so be it. But they are honest about what they do. Armstrong utilised the "Liberace" system. Most dopers do that. I would say "shame on them", but like Armstrong, they do not have the capacity to experience shame.
As Chris Horner says; "they were different times - everyone was doing something or knew about someone who was." So, obviously, reading between the lines, he was 100% clean...
But he was NOT Rider #15 of course! Why can't the UCI ban-for-life all these dope-cheats currently involved with running pro teams? Ranting on zootube is one thing, running WT teams is another.
As a Pro it must be hard to say "No" to drugs and finish down the leaderboard. Sadly those that use fail to see that saying "No" will hold you in good stead later in life, as your racing was clean, and therefore your consciousness is clean.
Money talks. Just look at who the successful politicians are these days. It's never those who do everything by the book. Yet, fans still want to believe in miracles because they have no other heroes to look up to.
He was 10% faster than the third placed rider in the TT. I don't know how some peops think this can happen without doping. Lets's make some comparisions. It's like the winner in an olympic 100m dash is running a 10.0 and the bronze medal winner has a 11.0 or the winner of the 10,000m event wins with a time of 27 minutes and the bronze medal winner is two and a half laps behind. This has never happened and this will never happen. Usain Bolt, Haile Gebreselasie...nobody could do something remotely close to what we witnessed last summer in cycling.
I'm a numbers guy and that is how I try explaining it to people. Some people's minds don't work that way tho so it has to be explained and when you do explain it that way it becomes a lot more clear 🤘🏻🏴
Pogi was absolutely devastated so the Saunier Duval management decided to take extraordinary measures and applied a blood bag in the night which turned out to be bad and Pogi was done and dead on the Col de la Loze.
Can someone please explain to me how these clean riders are going faster than all the dopers of the past....It is no possible for a clean rider to go faster than someone on a full doping programme...but that is all we see today..
Equipment ‼️‼️‼️ A former Danish Tour rider, now manager, compared his old bike from late 90s with a top spec bike, he said he would have won all races in a year in the 90s with the new bike ‼️
I've been saying this for years. Ever since Team SKY dominated. It's such a simple concept to ask why are these lads smashing records of known dopers. And NO it's not better nutrition, improved science, new technology and expensive fabric😂😂😂😂 That's a great cover story to the newbies but those of us that were around since the Lance days and the Festina affair, we wont be fooled!! I will give the new equipment story a bit of credit. They are able to put out better numbers by conserving energy with new gearing and such but this kind of display from Pogi and Visma are just WAY TOO MUCH!!!! But the equipment thing doesn't carry that much weight. There are records that have stood that still stand today even with the new equipment and they will eventually be broken when Pogi or Jonas get the chance to break them which they already have broken some of those records. Those records were still standing last year and this year and no other riders could break them WITH NEW EQUIPMENT but as soon as Jonas or Pogis got the chance, they broke most of them and that blows the "equipment" theory out the window. The bottom line is . . . When a handful of lads are absolutely DESTROYING everyone else in the peloton, something is going on. All the teams have access to the same tech, the same nutrition, the same science, the same everything so something else is DEFINITELY going on!!!! 🤘🏻🏴
I think pogi is clean as often he shows that he is human by totally cracking eg 2022 granon, 2023 col de la loze, and 2023 time trial. Whereas Jonas has shown no weakness
To be honest I actually think nobody is really clean in the whole peloton. However you cannot compare Vingegaards and Pogis cycling style. Pogi accelerates so often like crazy to win sprints in finals etc. In my opinon that increases the risk to get a breakdown, muscles not working properly, by a lot. In the past doped or not, Grand Tour Winners often only went for it when they saw everyone else is weaker that they, but barely sprinting for 10 bonus seconds. Yes it can haunt you if its a sec. decision in Paris, but except you are like Pogi in this Giro without any competition at all it saves you a lot energy, not doing those things for 3 weeks.
I've seen Pogi smoke Jonas in Tirreno, Paris-Nice, Lombardia, TDF 2021, LBL, Fleche-Wallone. He has cracked in all of these races since 2021. Please apologize for shit posting.
They are both doped to the max! Pogis numbers on stage 16 of the giro this year said it all. If his 81 km solo attack didn't raise eyebrows then the giro certainly did! He put out 6.1watts/kg for 35 mins and while he was chasing down Niaro he put out 6.9watts/kg for 13 mins!! That's beyond superhuman but I guess he's just got a really good chef and sports nutritionist😂 🤘🏻🏴
I’ve been in cycling since 1990. I’ve never seen a good time trialer who’s build like Jonas. Usually they’re more muscular. But I guess there’s always something different
The sport is averaging 6 W/kg . Lance and the dopers of the late 90s and early 2000s were doing 7 w/kg. He is not doping. Vingegaard did the best TT of his life. This is clickbait and it is not being honest nor doing any serious due diligence before presenting such a strong statement. Shame on you @cyclinghighlights
Vingegaard did in Combloux 7,6 w/kg per 13 min Lance could make 7,4 w/kg per 9 min in TT He never could rode 7 w/kg in a long stage You're the only one lying here so shame on you
This was a waste of time - sorry to say... I have no idea how many profesional cyclist are using doping today, but they are tested a lot... Btw. Jonas didn't replicate Bjarne's comment, if I remember correctly Bjarne always said "I have not been tested positive!" - he never said that he didn't use doping 😀
It was odd when a month later vingegaards time trial in the Vuelta was poor , well behind roglic and Remco and not that far ahead of kuss Alaphallipe’s time trial in the 2019 tour was also very suspicious- a guy who has always been hopeless in a time trial before and after wins it by about 30 seconds
Absolutely agree. That's why I believe he's "under performing" now. He was doped back then. Not so much now cos they have Remco as their little Guinea pig. They don't need Julian as much. He's not the "big name" on the ticket anymore 🤘🏻🏴

Pogi beat Roglic by 1:56 in the 2020 TT and won the tour, so this sort of thing has happened before. I remember the same questions being raised back then too.
Wasn't the same. Roglic wasn't 2nd one that Day, was a timeclimb which historically were others more drugged up like Avoiraz 94 or Ventoux 87/2004 in Dauphiné
Haha! The murky world of pro cycling just keeps getting murkier and weirder! Chicken Rasmussen, Bjarne 'friend of the channel' Riis, Anchovy Boy, it really is getting too much! LOL!
Just because you can't believe an athlete can have a superior performance does not mean he's doping. Jonas is just a really special athlete and we have had a few superior examples like him in the world ( certainly not Lance Armstrong). It's your duty to prove this bullshit you're accusing him of!
It's confusing how guys don't strategize how to obscure their doping better on the days when they're feeling good. They don't win by seconds, they just go for minutes.
Then you look at what Pogi did at Strade Bianchi and realise they all might be doping. The art now is not are you doping. The art now is how close to the race can I still dope without testing positive.
They CLEARLY have the testing system beat. What good is the doping if you get caught? The most important thing is to not test positive so I believe there is new methods of doping that hasn't been found out yet. Also, very few riders ever get caught by the testing. The riders and Drs are way ahead of the testers themselves. They always have been 🤘🏻🏴
"DisneyLandis" and "WhiteKenyanLandis had me howling 20 seconds into the video. I love that the more the "I believe in miracles, and I believe they can happen in stage after stage!" crowd cries in the comments, the more you go after their sacred dopeds! Great stuff!
Vingegaard beat Pogacar by such a margin, at the time i was thinking, this smells a bit. Pogi is such a phenomenom i had him down to win the Tour for the next decade. What i found odd was, Vingegaard seemed to come from nowhere, what had he actually done before winning the Tour?
@@cyclinghighlights It came out wrong from me. It wasn't a critique of your videos. Just that if there's ever to be made doping accusations, then Pogacar 2024 is the perfect example.
Pogacar himself seems highly questionable. To see that tiny elf-like waif just completely destroy the entire field and even shock himself is extremely suspicious and unlikely to be clean.
Power to weight ratio, have a look at Laura Trott no suspicion of doping and she is tiny but a multi gold medal track cyclist . It’s all in the genetics.

One is that they are winning in such unbelievably spectacular fashion becaose they are doping and TWO they will NOT get caught by the doping system and protocols. They CLEARLY have that beat!!! @@747driver3 so I've been doing lots of research on this doping stuff and I've stumbled onto something that is quite interesting. I always disregarded the motor doping as a big thing. It was there in the background but blood doping was the real reason these lads were winning but I've found some stuff out about the motor doping. They only need a small motor. One that only puts out 5-40 watts. Anything more than that would look way too noticable so the motor is going to be really low watts and used obviously only during those long climbs and there is a bloke in Hungary that is known to be providing them to some guys in the pro peloton. It's still an ongoing investigation and someone is trying to get into his circle but it's definitely a real thing. They do say that the guys that are probably using them are the super domestiques and not necessarily the GC lads. Another thing is that we are seeing more bike changes than EVER before in the sport. When they announced Jonas had gained 49 seconds on Wout VAN AERT at first 7.1km check, I remember Sean Kelly saying that has to be a mistake.

One massive factor is that the stages are a lot shorter than 20-30 tears ago
Look at every sport. Everywhere it got better. There is just also a lot of training optimization due to new research. Everything gets more professional. And they are testing way more than ever before. In the last tour. Visma and UAE had to take a doping control every day.

Nothing suspicious at all about Vingegards domination in the TT. Equipment ‼️‼️‼️
A former Danish Tour rider, now manager, compared his old bike from late 90s with a top spec bike, he said he would have won all races in a year in the 90s with the new bike ‼️
