It never ceases to amaze me that businesses are so protective of the inside of their buildings from being seen and then they use glass as outside cladding. Does no-one tell them that glass is see through until it's too late?
Not just security but the Met Plod is loaded with all sorts whose command and even more importantly their understanding of our language is very poor. Just have a look at AB at Uxbridge Police Station, there are at least 4/5 who show very little comprehension of the words that they utter. Great job TP, good to see you back.
What a building. No shortage of money there Plod. They must think that gives them a right to set their own laws. The idea that we can control others because we don’t like them exercising a right isn’t freedom.
I love your no-nonsense answers and the way you present yourself. So many auditors are wishy washy and weak. Rent-a-cops can smell that weakness and it shows in their audits.
The realities of life is often highlighted through these audits. What I mean is that if security guards want to be professional they at least ought to know the basic laws of trespass etc and yet I have nothing to do about security or policing and yet through these audits I know a great deal more than most of them. 🤓! Sad indictment to the standards of both services!!
I do a lot of street photography (mainly architecture) and over the past 15 years, I'd say 99% in city's are non native English people in so called 'security' jobs coming up to me barking orders at me to stop filming. I tend to just say I'm not breaking the law and that's usually it. If they start going on about seeing inside buildings I let them know that's the responisibilty of the building owners, not mine.
Agree and agree even more. The percentage of non-English security guards is probably because slave wages. I tell them to mind their own business, that they business is inside, not outside, mine is outside, and so not inside your business, then leave them to it. No more conversation.

@dougaldouglas8842 your English isn't great but I think I understand your question. Immigrant workers are filling jobs that native speakers do not want. It is similar across public services.
@@7king8debs79 Correction. British workers can't afford to do these jobs in a labour market dominated by immigrants who are only living in the UK short term.

Weird female security guard. Don't these people have to do an exame to get that SIA licence? Or are they giving them away to anyone that has two arms and can't speak proper English?
When their initial strategy of approaching and trying to get you to go away with persuasion failed they at least did switch to a good strategy. Don't contact. Don't approach. And don't provide content. Pity they didn't do that from the start.
So if you filmed homelessness , or people down on their luck , even though they should be acknowledged as the same criteria as these buildings and la di da people coming in and out of such luxurious places you wouldn't get questioned by anybody in the same way at all. Can you imagine security or police asking you not to film in cardboard city or urine paradise. I've been in the security industry for 25 years in lots of departments of security, thankfully have now given it up. Greatly underpaid job , and yes I can confirm that you have to display your SIA badge at all times whilst on duty anywhere.

6:48 Recording the outside of a building is specifically allowed in law. The only time it is. In section 62 of the Copyright, Design and Patents Act. Under a concept known as Freedom of Panorama which is understood internationally. Basically if something (usually a sculpture but it also includes buildings) is in public view then copyright can't exist on it because it's so freely visible. So it would be stupid to copyright it. If when filming or photographing a building you can see into a building then that's the aim of the architects. And the users to not put up blinds. It's just accidental inclusion. There is no definition of how much of a sculpture or building should be in shot, so it doesn't have to be just the whole building. It can be parts of it. Such as when you are standing close to the building.
Why are they so paranoid about you filming their building? We get filmed daily on the buses, shops, walking down the street, etc. even though none of us agreed to this unwelcome intrusion into our life! By the way, it's pathetic how they didn't know the law and yet tried to intimidate you. Most people would have fallen for their bluff.
plod - At 2.28 when the first guy leaves the building to speak to you, there is some kind of ID badge hanging from his belt, visible when his jacket swings open. I think that might be his SIA badge, but he was too far away to see clearly. If it was an SIA badge, he either lied to you or forgot that he was wearing it! LOL

Correct no qualifications required !!! just so long as you work for £6.50 an hour and haven't been in the country for more than 5 minutes.
