In my opinion what we saw wasn't the gaster we knew since the beginning his final attacks and him being emotionless really showed that void gaster is still in there

According to the canon, if Papyrus also dies, then Gaster will be able to use Polychromatism without risking his soul. So with such a situation as in the video, Papyrus would have died and Gaster dubbed Betty in full force and survived. Albeit with a damaged soul.
i think he died not because he use the papyrus soul but because he overuse his own power over his limits but your theory is possible too
We have seen Papyrus dying, whilst he was too. Which I beleive They have tried to tell us that their souls broke in almost the same time or his soul was already far too damaged and weakened to be able to whitstand his own Polychromatism.

Canonicaly in Glitchtale Gaster power like this:
Both sons are dead/Don't exsist on prequel time - 100 % [Polychromatism] [2 giant hands, 7 normal and Gigantic GB with purple beam]
When he killed Betty in Animosity with dead Sans and half of Pap's magic - 75 %
Only Sans dead - 50 % [Duality - 2 giant hands and one giant GB with red right eye]
Both sons are alive - 25 % [7 normal hands only and Monotone]
Sans is 25 % and Paps 50 %, so i am right. I think Gaster gave Paps 50 % because he is pacifist.

I agree with someone in the comments when papyrus dies first gaster would've been fine but here's an alternative I thought of
(Once papyrus died and gaster killed Betty he went crazy and started doing experiments to try to bring papyrus and sans then credits roll and we dont see the rest until the person who made decided) sound good? I went overboard didn't I ._.
That sounds like a good alternative universe, but I'm gonna be straying a little more from glitchtale, and do more underverse and xtale stuff.

Well, just to say that this isn't that simple. Betty still turns into... you know, the "hatred" form when she dies, so it's technically just the Bad Ending.
Both Gaster and Papyrus are dead, Betty is dead but also alive thanks to the hatred form.
And we still don't know how resistant and powerful is that form, so we can't fully know if the last attack from Gaster affected it at all.
But if Gaster destroyed Bettys body it means Hate cant turn into that "Fear Hate Thingy" But Hatred is still alive it just needs new host
@@pac1fast Well, since we don't fully know about the details of Betty's hatred form, we can't be 100% sure.
It can even be possible that it can fix its own body piece by piece, just like Nightmare Sans, who knows.

Так вот я думаю что гастер бы не умер умер бы сначала папс(надо поставить на него свечку чтоб он в каждой 2 анимации не умерал) также гастер бы стал в 2 раза сильнее так как вся сила санса и папса перевелась бы к нему и гастер бы не то что бы просто убил не только бетти но и ненависть, он бы их стер с лица земли))))

Whether or not hate survived or not, (still undecided), I do know for sure that betty's body is destroyed, so if hate DID make it out on this AU, it'll definitely have to find a new host

Gaster knew, gaster was aware that he had atleast damaged papyrus, but he was too consumed by the will to completely annihilate Betty, he didn't know that papyrus died. But he did know that he had hurt him
