He says, “It is 2-fingers, AT BEST, if
you have any size to your hands.”
Meanwhile, all 5’ & 95 lbs of me is over
here with a FULL 4 FINGER grip like,
“Wow!- It’s like someone custom made
this beauty to fit me perfectly!!”.🤦🏻♀️ 🤣
Good summary of the Sig P238, and you have a particularly pleasant speaking voice. Keep up the informative reviews!
Hey, I haven't even taken my first pistol class, but I'm researching and this is just what I wanted to see. I think the Sig P238 is highest on the list right now. Thanks for this great detail review and tips.
Totally new at 48 yo. Never shot. This gun highly recommended for CWP I. Getting this weekend. You still like it being this video 3 years old?
It’s a great all around pistol ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxnX9wE_Q8zvF75Y5iWzTU3Q4FlrtyGApQ , doesn’t fit in plastic glock 19 holsters but will fit in some non plastic ones. The location of the safety isn’t very good because your finger will accidentally activate it but it can easily be removed by pulling on both sides at once. Don’t lose the red o-rings while doing that.
I think that next month my Kahr P380 is going to be traded for a P238, its just a better gun all around and the slide will be easier for my gal to manipulate.
Thanks for the video but I am a little confused about your comment on the safety. At the 4:15 mark, you said you could carry with a round in chamber and the safety on. Then you said you don't like the extra step if you are in a threat and demonstrated the process of drawing, deactivating the safety, and racking the slide. So my confusion is why do you need to rack the slide if you already have a round chambered? Did I misunderstand your comment? Thanks for your response.
maybe he misspoke but I understood him saying "without a round in the chamber" therefore the extra step of racking the slide in addition to disengaging the safety
Great gun. I got arthritis and the slide is so easy. accurate and easy conceal. like the extender for third finger. seems like less recoil with extra rap. Like the safety on it and really short action trigger pule. Makes it much more accurate.
1:27 Not all P238 mdls have ambi safety 1:41 All but 1 P238 (Academy) have Siglite sights 2:09 aftermarket means any mags built by other than SigSauer. Some models come w/factory ext mag .5:13 Single pull + Siglite sights=Accuracy
FYI: Biggest Sig feature over original 1911 is SLIDE functional w/safety On for safer loading & unloading. Hope this helps
Possibly the best looking pocket .380
I know this has been mentioned a couple of times already - but did the gun come stock with ambi safety, or is that custom work?
Love your reviews! I'm getting a couple of those for me and the old lady...
I've got the SAS model. Only regular safety, not ambidextrous, but I like it that way! Using a Desantis OWB leather holster. My holster is in brown leather which I like. As a plus, the thumb snap rides in front of the hammer adding a little extra safety when carrying cocked and locked. Not really necessary as the safety is very positive, but for those uncomfortable with carrying cocked and locked, just a little piece of mind!
Cheers,
Unkei
for women and men with small or arthritis in their hands, this gun slides very easily and is painless to handle. the p232 is very stiff and is hard to rack with my arthritis. so is my keltec; thats why i am punting on it.
Unnecessary comment about how one should carry (cocked and locked). Extra steps don't mean anything if you have practiced them. Muscle memory prevails in high stress situations. For those with kids, the added safety of carrying without a round in the chamber is very comforting. Besides, a majority of the time, simply revealing a gun will scare off an adversary and wouldn't need to be used.
LOVE THE BLACK PEARL MODEL!!
Keep it up bro. Very informative, especially to new gun owners. Thank you.
I love the way this gun fits my hands, but I'm a lefty. Can the release button be reversed?
Mary Edmiston You can't change the slide lock to be ambidextrous but the one pictured as an example has an ambidextrous safety and I recommend using your hand to rack the slide locked back with a slingshot motion as opposed to using the slide lock anyway. If you run it in this fashion it's a fully ambidextrous pistol.
How do you and your dad like the hybrid holster with that gun? I'm looking for one for mine.
Thanks for the review. Looking to get one of these soon.
great review, one a great gun, what are your opinions of the P238's bigger brother, the P938.
I don't know if I like the redwood or black wood better
Looks like a good pistol to carry in an ankle holster.
How is the recoil?
Thank you sir. Love seeing new guns
I just bought mine for 400 rainbow color. Beautiful gun.
Just an FYI you can rack the gun with the safety on as long as the hammer was in the rearward position so you can cary Israeli carry!
We're not in Israel
that is no shit!! lol Locked and cocked for me
this was all they had apart from revolvers which I'm not ready for yet lol... in 2020 lol
LOVE my P238 !!! EDC !!
Nice little pistol.
Great review, thank you. Keep up the good work.
You don"t need the safety on if it is uncocked. That's how I carry and it is far from "pointless."
If your looking for one of these for a good price check out palmettostatearmory they offer a custom one called the Sportster, it comes with the hogue grips, the standard mag and the extended 7rd mag, with fiber optic front sights for the same price as the standard sig 380. I bought mine last year from them couldnt be happier with it.
Nice video. Very informative.
Nice job on this review!
Leaning forward is a good shooting stance, BTW. He is controlling the gun. If he was leaning back, the gun would control him.
My 238 doesn't have ambi safety?! READ THE MANUAL regarding all the built-in safeties and then get over it and carry locked and cocked as it was designed! Just keep finger off trigger til sites on target. What I really like about .380 is that with modern JHP rounds, it's highly unlikely to over penetrate.
you do not have to disengage the safety to rack the slide or put one in the chamber. you can rack it with the safety on.
not anymore, not with my new one.
+sycamorebacker1 It's a dangerous game to assume the chamber is empty.
You don't have to assume unless it's someone else's gun.
How dare you call "Aguila" rounds "common". Viva Mexico! 😁
Good looking good
Thanks for the info
Good Gun!
Nice thank bro
good job and god BLS
Dude, good review but you really should not lean forward so much. Thanks for the review.
omg, it's so cute! I just wish it wasn't so expensive! >.
pony up the bucks for a reliable pistol. its your life on the line.
i like that hat... i want the hat
Break in period; wasn't the gun used. They're just not as reliable as something like a LCR, etc. or powerful. But, to each his own.
jaedbl67 say no to drugs..
I'd rather get a Ruger LcP or S&W Shield for much less money
god smack
Those pistols do cost less, but there is quite a bit of quality in the p238 that isn't found in those pistols. The trigger, sights, and recoil are going to be worse.
How do you and your dad like the hybrid holster with that gun? I'm looking for one for mine.
Fantastic. It just flat out disappears. My sister is now carrying this pistol in a hybrid holster.
Nice! Thank you.
