2:28 I'm more surprised knowing that explorer can drift. Those are FWD in base models, AWD for some models. The new explorers are RWD.
Update: The 2011-2018 explorers (fifth gen) were the only ones with transverse engine D4 platforms. After some research, I found out they the lead engineer was also an engineer of ranger rover. They had a fancy multi-disc, torque split system inspired by range rover that could deliver 100% torque to the rear or font differentials. In the video, you can see only the rear wheels spinning due to this system actively changing power demands in real time. The new 2019+ explorers (6th gen) are all longitudinal designs.
Probably uses the same AWD system style as the last Focus RS which can overdrive the rear wheels enough to make it look like a legit RWD drift
I've never known Explorers to be FWD. My 2000 XLT was AWD and it has a longitudinal engine which means the 2WDs would be RWD.
