I'm not over 50 but I have a herniated disc that acts up and has put me in bed a few times a month. Still trying to figure out best and worst things to do to help it heal and your tips are the most helpful things I've found!!
Thank you !! Ive done everything you have said for the last week now and my symptoms have been the best they ever have been in my 10 weeks of recovery. Def take it back when stretching. I was stretching 4-6 times a days. Symptoms always got worse. Now they are nearly gone. And i have 4 herniated dics! I walk 40-50 minutes a day now with no pain. Core and stability exercises every other day. And my nutrition is number one. Surgery sometimes isnt needed! Thank you so much for your great info !!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your video. After watching I got out of bed and took my dog for a walk. I was afraid to walk thinking it would make my disc worse. I am improving everyday now and I am really grateful for your knowledge and advice. I am following and have subscribed. :)
Thank you Will for your information, I have scoliosis and a pinched nerve and have been doing the wrong things 😮 I will definitely take your advice and change my activities
I really appreciate your approach to the subject, the coherent explanations. I have suffered pain for three months & your advice has given me the first real relief, thank you.
I might just have to pay you a visit in person. I live a short train ride away from Farnham (i.e. I live in Surrey), and I've had symptoms of herniated disc and piriformus syndrome for months now (likely a result of prolonged sitting while working from home and digging too much in the garden during my spare time). I have visited a couple of physiotherapists, with mixed experiences. But your videos make a lot of sense based on all the research and trial and error I've done over the last few weeks. I'm still waking up with crippling muscle pain in the left buttock, and my instincts have told me that certain stretches aren't really helpful.
If you have excess lordosis, you need support for the L3, L4 L5, and a relatively soft mattress does this. Also, need support for this part of the back in a chair or car seat.
🙏🏻thankyou so much for making these videos & help person like me God bless you Son 🕉️🙏🏻 from Kolkata India. Can I do water excercise for l5s1 herniated disc & medial miniscus tear grade 3...will be great full if u can make a video on it too 🙏🏻

Thanks for your insights! What’s your take on the different operational procedures for damaged docs? What’s the least minimal ones you would recommend?

Hi Dr ... I'm 31 yrs female suffering from burge herniated disc, it's been two months still in pain and when I'm doing excersice pain getting worse I don't know why
Hi Will, it has been 8 weeks since I was diagnosed with two herniated discs between L4-L5-S1. The nerve compression is bilateral so I'm having Sciatica symptoms in both my legs but weakness and numbness only in the right leg. I am much better now, my walk has improved and the weakness is almost gone. But i still feel the lateral region of my right foot numb. Also my calf feels heavy. My doc says i ll be fine but I don't feel completely fine. He prescribed some exercises but they made the pain worse. What would you suggest for dealing with this heaviness and slight pain in my calf.
Sorry to hear about your problem. I'm afraid I can't offer any specific medical advice for anyone over the internet without a proper assessment. Best to get checked by a professional for issues like this. I hope that helps!
Thank you so much I have bulging disc in L5 and S1 I'm in pain now for 2 weeks trying your method what do you think if I went to a chiropractor or acupuncture
Thanks doctor for all the information. I'm suffering from 2 bulg disc for the past few months, I in lots of lower back pain. Hey doctor, is there a way we can communicate to get coaching from u? Please
I used to feel the same a month ago - it probably felt better because you place your toes first on the ground while walking up, walking on heels may be painful. Now walking up seems way worse for me
Its been 3 weeks for me 😔 This sciatica pain is so depressing cant work properly since i have to sit on a computer all day Does walking in threadmill as an exercise help? Or it just make it worst?
u can walk as much as you can,but if you start too feel pressure and pain in lower back take it slow at first.I do the stretching and keep blood coming to lower back for mobility then going on long walk its helps and dont forget your water :)

What if the opposite is true. Flexion feels better snd extension feels worse. Sitting relesses my leg pain while walking and laying flat causes it.
As doc recommended, suggest a soft mattress to sleep!
You may have facet damage, not disc.
