i was 14 and this was my first ever big gig. It still is in my top 3 of gigs of all time and watching this video makes me smile as i think back to how amazing it was
I was at Donington Park, this was the summer of 2001. Scorching hot day, I was 21 years old and head over heels with my first love. I was a huge fan of both the Phonics and Ash who were supporting them. Wish there was some footage from the Donny gig but none seems to have made it onto YT.
Me too buddy! I was at Donington too. 16 years old. Just done GCSEs and just left school. Me and my mate went down on a coach trip as you did back in those days 😂! It was scorching. I remember it well. Loved Ash too. There was a little known very underrated band called Proud Mary on earlier in the afternoon. Seen them a few times locally in Manchester. My first ever proper gig! Absolutely amazed at the power in Kelly's voice! 20 years on and still one of the best times in my life! X
Amazing Video, the crowd sound and atmosphere comes across and you still get the sound of the music, whoever recorded this did a great job, oh and the Stereophonics aren't bad either.
@@johnstephenjones7348 i met him once knew he wasnt tall but im not tall but i thought fuck me he is small i thought what you said kelly the dwarf at the time lol
Yeaaaaah so long I was looking for that as well;-) First one is "I Can't Tell You Why" by The Eagles (the lads from Hotel California), the second one - surprise - is also by The Eagles and is called "The Long Run". Great songs...

Songbyrd Ltd were you in this crowd?
Of course 😂😂
i was in this crowd my mate caught a cold
Cool story bro. And yeah he was on the dvd catching it so go swivel. Bitter oldies.
One of the best live bands to come out of the UK. How can Kelly be both a good rock singer as well as an outstanding acoustic artist?
And a really good guy.
Gruff Rhys has more talent in his left fingernail that Kelly the dwarf

They played the riff from Twice as Harder by the Black Crowes! Cool!!!

Seen them loads but really interesting to watch them gig only (mostly) wag and pac
The best band ever... I'm 50, this bands songs make me feel 19 again ❤️
I was at Donington park. This was 2001 not 2002
Best live band EVER> Now for the tour PLEASE!
❤
Brilliant band ever!
This band
I can´t hear Richard´s backing vocal. Never could, even on gigs I personally atended. That´s really weird!
His voice is really deep and very low in the mix, it is pretty inaudible most of the time.
There's a video of "Superman" from a rehearsal room where you can hear him the chorus if you listen carefully enough
Whats the song at 12.33 that kelly and the other guy are playing?
Rod Stewart- Baby Jane.
Wrong year, was july 14 2001
Anyone know what the songs Kelly are singing in the dressing room at 127.40 to 129.00

And by the way, the song the when the Phonics enter the stadium just before the show is "Seven Bridges Road" by... The Eagles
@@moritzschibler2905 I'm surprised Don Henley hasn't sued them for playing it. He is really hot on copyright. Love The Eagles though.
