Hehe, My mom got me this LP in 1996 when I was 11 years old, and I had never heard this band before... so imagine my surprise at home when I put this record on...
This is the first time I've ever seen someone reacting to Sabbat on UA-cam, and it's amazing to see! Sabbat's vocalist Martin Walkyier formed Skyclad after he left Sabbat, who basically invented folk metal. You should definitely check out "The Widdershin's Jig" by them.
This album "Dreamweaver" from Sabbat, additionally with the first two albums from the band Forbidden, "Forbidden Evil" , "Twisted into Form" and "No Place For Disgrace" from Flotsam and Jetsam are among the most overlooked thrash albums that should've gotten way more attention and recognition. Absolute Masterpieces. This band and this album in particular has a very powerful and original sound with the inclusion of a insane amount of lyrics.
Legendary british band, this song requires a lyric video and analysis on its own, the album itself is pure gold Guitar player Andy Sneap is today a music producer for tons of great bands and touring member of Judas Priest
He's now the main guitarist in a band called 'Hell'.. I only know this cos went to watch Saxon & I couldn't believe how good the guitarist was in the support band, I just had to look them up.
Love this band / LP. This album was based on The Way Of The Wyrd by Brian Bates about the spread of christianity. Haven't read it since I was a teenager.
This is a goddamned metal masterpeice, a true gem in the sands of metal time! and the LYRICS! Absolute GOLD. I hear a strong Celtic Frost vibe in this track too, surely must have been an influence!
Bloody hell this takes me back, I've got this on vinyl from when it was released. Hard to believe these days how extreme people thought the vocals were. A lot more influential than they get credit for I suspect. I always remember the fuzzier guitar compared to most of the US bands
Sabbat was basically the British response to Slayer. Their first record A History of a Time to Come goes extremely hard. Check out Hosanna in Excelsis, or A Cautionary Tale. Horned is the Hunter for a something a bit more diverse too.
Thanks for reviewing this band! Dreamweaver to this day is still one of my all time favorite thrash albums, which sadly has never gained the attention it deserved. Martin Walyker's lyrical writing, in my opinion, tells the books story better than the book itself, which I have read multiple times. Lyrical and musical genius. Thank you again for reviewing thus
Possibly the greatest ( most underrated) thrash album of all time; yeah; it's up there with reign in blood. Thankfully; I've been a fan since Dreamweaver!..
Sabbat still have a massive following here in the UK History was Massive in europe but not so much here in the UK Dreamweaver smashed it i have been very luck to see them Many times Live they were amazing truly. They were Fantastic at the Marquee TNT Thank you for reviewing this great song Sabbat are a massive part of the the Nottingham Metal Scene Checkout all the Bands that Martin and Andy went on to Keep the Metal Real TNT
That's cool you checked them out. Pretty under appreciated band from what I can tell, but I also listen to more punk rock and hard core then metal. Regardless, a long time favorite of mine.
You should do the whole album with lyrics. It’s a concept album based on a book called The Way of Wyrd. A missionary is sent to pagan England to convert them to Christianity and he is met by a guide who is a shaman. The missionary has his soul stolen by the Wyrd Sisters and the guide helps him get it back. Something like that anyway, it’s been years since I read it.
eoo thanks for your review, this was the best thrash metal from UK that epoch, cheers! ha ha I think the funny in this case is the European flavour and specially from brithish people
Excellent reaction many thanks for doing this cheers!!!! And I have to agree Do Dark Horses Dream Of Nightmares is a better track but is better followed after listening to Advent Of Insanity!!! Excellent band Excellent album!!!!! Cheers!!!! Peter.
Really need to listen to the whole album to get the most out of this. Mythistory, Wildfire and Do Dark Horses Dream of Nightmares are far better (imo) tracks .
First one Who does Sabbat. Great choice! Dreaweaver is an amazing album. Already had the Original on vinyl. And also the CD. Great musicians. Favorite track: do dark horses dream of nightmares You have become the most honest and most open minded guy in this whole reaction scene... as far as i can tell Had to say this After seeing two christian hypocrates Doing some misfits...
Ah, Vin and Sori... I stopped watching them when I got fed up of the way they start every video with ten minutes of naming their furniture and saying what their children had for breakfast.
@@youcantleavethisempty exactly 🤣 Yes, i started to skip, watching the Song and just the beginning of their mostly stupid "reaction" and get out... that nu metal Dude claiming being a metallica "fan" cause he knows enter Sandman doh.... But if you want to see something funny, watch their reaction to type o negative... prelude to agony... their faces during the Jackhammer rape 🤣 priceless
As a christian myself I love Sabbat their music and lyrics are awesome!! Also I find V&S' channel kinda dumb introducing unanimated objects and talking about their friends and merchandise, some arrogant opinions as well made me skip their videos
Lyrically, no one can touch this band. Not even Gene Hoglan can write verses like these. Nowhere even close. The music is listenable, despite the static production. But the words are FIRE.
Skyclsd I'd this singers new band enjoy its way different to this it's folk metal songs thinking allowed emerald history lessons vintage whine they have 13 cds you Do yourself a favour an review skyclad now
This album was the soundtrack to my mid to late teens. A true masterpiece, and probably the finest British thrash metal ever.

Way of wyrd is my go to book, anytime I can't decide what to read ,I think right back to it.

Mannn I knew it !!!!! I felt the similarities!
I´m not agreed, not response, Sabbat was good itself, british flavour, folkish, and possibly harder than Slayer, no satanism etc
My cousin wrote this, and is the singer! :)
Your cousin is fucking awesome. I love this band.
Two records of absolute power! Gods of thrash!
One of the greatest thrash bands of all time and Martin is a songwriting God!
Thanks for reacting to this 🤘🏻
Very interesting to learn about this band! Great info in the comments. I’m glad you listen to your subscribers. 🔥🤘

Such a great album. I had this on cassette as a young teenager.
And to think this is their ballad. I was brought to tears.
I got gifted this LP by the UK Office of Noise Records, way back when.
(Greyhound Road Fulham??)
This song has the best lyrics.
Dreamweaver - best lyrics end to end of any album I have ever heard
Yes! That's what made me keep going back to listen to it when I was 15.
That's cool you checked them out. Pretty under appreciated band from what I can tell, but I also listen to more punk rock and hard core then metal. Regardless, a long time favorite of mine.

Do Dark Horses Dream of Nightmares is my fave track. I love the lyrics. "Very little more than the sky for a blanket, the earth for my bed".
Another awesome track...and again lyricism 🤘🤟🤘

Long live sabbat
Fuuuuuckkk ...great man!
Gotta read the lyrics. Otherwise, this song will just sound like a barrage of noise. The lyrics are genius.
