      @@backtomovie5382 Dear, that is we have to decide that whether for transfer of lateral forces, collector members required or not.
      2nd , the way you ask,,,,,, i think.. you are asking ... if collector elements are missing, then definitely forces effects will be more.

    You should eliminate (I and Cd) in the P-Delta (Theta) equation, because your result displacements from Etabs is not amplified. that is very important

    Hi, bro, I follow your video to check the P-D effect, but, when I choose the analysis -> results-> structure results-> story forces, I right click at "Load case/comb", there is only Ex Max, Ey max and Wind_x and Wind_y, no other load, what's wrong? No dead, no live , no other load cases, only lateral force, seismic and wind, why ? Do you know what's wrong with that ? I can't read P, the vertical load, I can't find it .

    what is the reason for saving the model while entering the stiffness modifier?
    2. let say I entered the stiffness modifier while modeling or defining sections, then I changed it for the reason of I am using service condition for the P-Delta check, and there was NO P-delta. do I have to proceed with service conditions modifier or what?

      Dear it is simple check....
      If you need to include p delta effects ...
      Then enable p delta option...
      Your model automatically incorporate ... These effects.

    Thank you for the video sir, I have two questions: 1. do we need to modify property modifiers to "1" in "Define--section properties--sections" first?
    2. At 9:26, the stiffness modifiers should be 0.35? since your model is rigid diaphragm assigned as shell.

      We need to apply modifiers at service conditions...
      Because P Delta is applied at service loads

      @@civilmdc let me change a way to ask,first i understand we gonna use service load. In previous video, when you "define" a beam section, you had entered a modifier. in this video, you go to "assign" and entered the other modifier(this is for service load). what is the difference between this two place ("assign" and "define":)? because in last model, when I right click beam, there is a beam information comes out, the property modifiers are all "1". but in this video, it changes. and gain, thank you for you replying.

    The formula of DeltaX in excel is DeltaX = ((UXabove - UXbelow)*Cd)/I. If you insert the DeltaX formula in stability coefficient formula, Cd and I will get cancelled. Therefore we didnt use I and Cd if the equation. Kindly give clarification on the computation of DeltaX

      Dear, friend, ETABS 2017 is not perfectly on many computers,,,, some have analysis issue... some have crack issue, ,,,I personally recommend to you ... the use ETABS 2016..... that is present at www.civilmdc.com

      ETABS.. don't count automatically.. we have to select p delta , if needed as shown in the video...
