I always had a movie planned similar but it’s completely different to this if only I can talk to James foxx. Btw I know how and where he got that name James foxx it’s funny, but You can also search it up.
Yeah I love how it goes from being hot ass desert to ice cold, really shows the distance and suffering these guys are going through just in these opening credits
This sequence is a masterpiece on so many levels. Not just because of the amazing dialogue or flawless cinematography, but also the masterful use of visual storytelling. Without any words at all, the movie sets up the supremecist ideology, using nothing but cinematography and framing. And obviously, the music cutting out as Schultz comes in introduces the opposing egalitarian ideology. This is one of the best openings I've ever seen
This is the best opening credits sequence ever in the history of cinema. I will never forget it was January 2013 in Punto Fijo, Falcon, Venezuela in Las Virtudes mall center, which contains the Cinex movie theater. Legendary place for the people that live there. I was entering this movie which i was very excited as a Tarantino fan, my then girfriend (both cinephiles, we met at that theater too in a The Hunger Games screening) was behind me, my cousing and my ex sister behind us. We usually went the four of us because we were a pair of couples and they were sister, me and my cousin lived together so it was convenient. We just barely entered right at the very beginning of this sequence, we missed the trailers and all that bullshit. And this track hits me hard goddammit, I almost fell because I had to stop midway in many instances just to appreciate the fonts used in the credits, the cinematography... I just had to stay still midway through the staircases (because we always reserved the top most seats) and look in awe. When we were sit the next scene was on, when its nightime and the carriages are stopped by one of the most amazing characters ever: Dr. Schultz. This movie was so amazing that me and me ex watched it like 3 or 4 times in the span of a week. Goddammit Lis, the memories. Its crazy how time goes so fast because when we were both sitting tight, holding hands watching this masterpiece back in 2013 we barely had like 2 months of relationship (although we met at the end of march or beginning of april in 2012 and we hit up pretty fast chatting and meeting many times in that mall and that movie theater before we became official) and we lasted for 9 years and ended things in January 2022, now living in Peru. We started living separatedly 19th March 2022 and I left Lima for Venezuela 4th November 2022. The last time we saw each other was in her apartment the previous day. We ate pizza, we hugged, we saw each other with sadness as the elevator door closed. I went down with a pit in my stomach. Time flies. It's incredible that while watching this film, sharing the passion with her, I felt lucky and invincible. I was so young and naive. We were both. Take no one for granted and maintain your relationship like you maintain a car or a PC. Every day you must dedicate your energy and time to made sure everything is fine. And watch yourself if you are derailing the relationship. Once trust is broken it can never come back. Trust is a glass. You break it and even if you try to mend in with glue it'll never resemble the original form ever again. Talk with them, communication. Don't be cocky, no relationship is safe from breakups. We shared a bed for 7 years, we even moved countries. We went through a lot. We laughed and cried, and confessed shit no one else knows. Secrets, dreams, fears, hopes. But no relationship is safe my friends. This movie was our favorites for maaany years. I mean its just fucking incredible. One of Tarantino's best. We watched hundreds of movies in the span of 5 years in that movie theater and the other one in our town, and even more in our bedrooms and eventualy our flat. Everything changes. The last movie we watched, in a movie theater in Lima called Jockey Plaza was Everything Everywhere All At Once. Cool and quirky surrealist film. Thanks Lis for everything.
I'm not american I had little knowledge about racism in USA and Europe. The films like Django unchained helped me to realise how horrible people were treated and how monstrous human nature could be. I love the opening scene. It's so surreal: breathtaking landscapes, sublime music along with horrifying scene of slavery. It's heartbreaking, haunting, but I can't stop watching this.
Yeah and he did it for almost all his movies And I'm good with it ...there is a different between art and personal life. You can hate a person but that doesn't mean he don't produce quality shit.
Wolfie the wolf I never said I hated the movie but it’s just something weird and interesting. I mean you probably heard at least one of the many conspiracies going around.
Django Django, have you always been alone? Django Django, have you never loved again? Love will live on, oh oh oh. Life must go on, oh oh oh for you cannot spend your life regretting. Django Django, you must face another day. Django Django, now your love has gone away. Once you loved her, whoa-oh, now you've lost her, whoa-oh-oh-oh, but you've lost her forever, Django. When there are clouds in the skies and they are grey you may be sad but remember that all’ll pass away. Oh Django, after the showers the sun will be shining. [Instrumental solo] Once you loved her, whoa-oh, now you've lost her, whoa-oh-oh-oh, but you've lost her forever, Django. When there are clouds in the skies and they are grey you may be sad but remember that all’ll pass away. Oh Django, after the showers the sun will be shining. Django! Oh oh oh Django! There's simply nothing quite like a Tarantino movie opening credits scene
Loucas Flash reservoir dogs was the best though, little green bag just blends into the scene so well.

Fun fact: this song was actually the original song from the first Django movie
Just a few additions to it. Im still hoping somebody can do a side by side comparison
It's cool how a movie theme can fit two different separate characters who happen to share a name.

QT movie openings are the best. The transition from day to night in the title opening and arrival of Schultz. Loved it

1:23 best use of camerawork to compliment the music
They did it all the time in the 60s

That was awesome
Django drinking game: every time they say Django you take a shot.

Just asking man but are you like trying to make fun of the song? Just saying

Such an epic song
This part feels like you are watching a movie from the 1960's or 70's of Clint Eastwood
