@@scottd1489 Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. So when I took off and swapped the wiper motor assembly, I kept hold of the broken one to do a kind of autopsy. All I found was that the metal electrical contacts under the black cover had become burnt, melted and worn in lots of places so we're no longer creating good electrical contacts. It's not usually a serviced item but I imagine if it were to be occasionally cleaned and re greased, (with plastic and electric compatible grease), that would probably extend its serviceable time a bit.
