This movie was amazing, those single shots and the battle scenes aren't just a camera shaking in every direction, you see everything.
Her performance was world class
After The Hours, she's cemented as one the greatest of all time, no matter what other role she plays after.
That moment she told Amleth the truth and trying to seduce him was genuinely frightening, she was so magnificently evil,it subverted the whole idea what real power is, it is not a big muscular guy with a sword but an elder woman who gets into your head and f*cks with your mind, an evil Jedi mindtrick . She destroys Amleth, he has already lost even if he wins. Hats off to miss Kidman👍

Perfectly stated. She was the master of the game. It’s always not about size and physical strength. She and Olga prove this in the story. I also saw it twice. Just brilliant

Agreed, though I hesitate the use of 'evil'. I think what this movie illustrates more than anything is how it starts so black and white and becomes more muddy, ugly, and ambigious the further it goes along.

I saw it its a stunning film.
Imagine how much better it would have been, if the money grubbing producers chose suitably talented actresses, instead of depending on a big movie star box office draw to get people to buy tickets... regardless of how distracting the plastic looking old woman from Beverly Hills is from allowing viewers to escape and believe the story.

I remember Nicole Kidman starring in small roles in Australian movies and tv series as a teenager in the early 1980s.
