I'm looking forward to being able to get this game as I had a wii but didn't know about this game. Only problem I may have is finding someone I know to play with.
If Story Mode does end up getting online support, you bet I'm going to gather a group of friends to tackle it TheRunawayGuys style! The only question is if we can actually beat it within 4 years.
Didn't think they would ever re-release this niche game, I'm glad I own a Wii copy but it's always been way to difficult to get, nice that they're finally making it accessible to more people, even with the odd changes, the online should pretty fun addition overall
I’m so excited for this to release. I’ve always felt kinda bad running the original in Dolphin, and it’s a pain to set up my laptop and controllers to play when friends come over.
Im glad Ill get a chance to play the game since watching the Runaway guys playthrough though Im kinda sad we don't get anything new besides the connect feature. I would have loved some new classes and characters. I know its a stretch but Maybe there will be some DLC
6:53 - I kind of like her new clothes actually, but I hope that in the final version/release that the white-lace reaches the end of her dress/top. It looks a bit weird to me with how it just abruptly cuts off around the stomach-area. Though even if it doesn't get fixed, it's really not a big deal. Just something I felt to point out. The pants/undershirt on Warrior/Acrobat are definitely appreciated~
same, people overreact about the censorship thing so far, as if they had completly redesigned the female classes for this instead of giving them less skin to show at certain parts. I personally find those changes genuine, besides nobody mentioned that the artworks have been upgraded too in terms of details, say the female acrobat having more then just yellow as a colour around this time and that the red colour is less orange this time around.
If you can't play story mode online I'm not sure I will even buy this. Thats the whole reason I'm excited. If I still need to gather people in person i may as well just keep using the version I have.
God, the amount of times I played this with my friends back in Japan were the stuff of magic. If this port does well, it would be nice to see DX and World get a port(and true localisation so I can play without having to translate a whole playthrough for my friends xD)
ive seen alot of people on YT and even Twitter going off on the censorship and how its unecessay. Personally for me i understand them wanting to keep the rating consistent (since E10+ is equivelant to B rated). So what if your warrior girl has pants? you still got the bikini armor same with the acrobats. Honestly Chance being censored only for western release im not too worried about, i agree with you though that i find it odd how japan has no issue with Chance but we here in the west do. Then again i wont complain, the games coming and id finally get to play it
Considering just how butthurt some groups here in the west get about how female characters are depicted? I'm not surprised by the censorship only we get.
If I had to guess, you would be able to play story mode online but only in a sort of private room as searching for randoms for story mode might be more tougher
Very excited for this, my friends & I had a game going before the pandemic but it was put on pause due to the pandemic given they couldn't come over anymore. Two people had to share a controller because I only could run 2 controllers with my PS2, I lost the multitab but found it when I moved. Oh yeah, I moved during the pandemic so now I live 4 hours away & my friends aren't going to travel that far so we decided to just not continue our game, we also sorta forgot what each person was doing anyways. With this game, I'm hoping we'll be able to start a new session & play from afar, we were a group of three but found a fourth interested in joining us if we can actually play together which it sounds like we will.
Interesting that they've decided to censor some of the designs. I wonder if the same goes for some of the stereotypical depictions of villagers in the game. Regardless, I'm picking the game up, but I am interested in what other designs have been altered to reflect the modern gaming world.
@@abrahamlupis9354 In the case of Japan , it's because they are very prudish when it comes to anything sexual that isn't explicitly made to be porn. In the case of the states, it's due to the fear of men fantasizing about fictional characters
I’m not sure how Soul Calibur V Ring Out Quotes led me here, but this is the first time I heard of this game getting a remake. My only knowledge of this game is from the Runaway Guys, but I’m excited to eventually get the chance to try it myself, even if in remake form.
i was so sad when i found this game one day and absolutely enjoyed playing it but hardly anyone did youtube videos of it. i mean there is definitely a reason due to how out of control and decently long the story can be depending on players. but i'm hoping that with this release more people become aware of this as i call it extreme monopoly.
Game will get easily and rightfully bashed for not having online story mode connectivity, I feel like that’s going to be the biggest selling point for it
Well, seems the job animations (coming back to this video after the fact) are actually still there, so the twirl and everything is there after all. (Correction, seems jobs like Cleric don’t have them, so jobs past the main 3 don’t, odd)
It's still a bit up in the air though because you also can't tell how early in the game it is. If it is story mode for the online connectivity, it has to be no earlier than chapter 2, and no later than chapter 5.
The widescreen stretching bothers me, hopefully it’s optional. I rrally liked the old font too. The shopkeeper getting censored outright pisses me off though.
Is the widescreen stretching new to the port, or was the Wii version using a lower horizontal resolution and was intended to be stretched anamorphic style?
For the Topic of Censorship... Ehh. Im fine with it here for 3 reasons 1. All of the Censorship we've seen so far is purely cosmetic and appearance stuff. No effect on gameplay 2. They likely wanted(Or were forced to by the sharholders or Publishers) to stay a certain age rating and the standards have likely changed since 2007 so they probably had no choice. 3. I kinda prefer these new looks as a pure design standpoint.
Even in "trash" 3d models, we have censorship :/ By trash I mean "Very not R-18" / "Would be Rated E even if the original E Rating is Rated M" but I didn't know how to phrase it without possibly getting violations.
I was looking forward to Dokapon UP! So sad that we only get a port with censorship and the only new thing is multiplayer (which only good for friends since too long for online randoms)
Bro story mode needs online play. It's basically a D&D session which is annoying to get everyone in person at the same time. Online would enable the sessions to be later when everyone is off work for like a 2 hour session.
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if Etrian Odyssey got a similar “censorship” on the Switch, I always felt a little weird running around with a party of half naked children 😕
@@Evilriku13 There are other ways to support the devs. Just liek with anime localizers, subscribing to their sites will only encourage more localization practices We should not buy localized games that practice censorship or engage in localization shenanigans.
I do love the cute-looking characters as they made both the males and females cute with their own clothes to know what sex they are. The censorship should have never been done since you can not make everybody be interested in the product you put out. There are people who find long clothes eros, failing to help either way. Accepting the stricter rating would have been a better option. Another good way to send a big, loud message to Japanese companies is to not buy their products since they look at the sales.

Yeah me too. Their censored designs seems more full and better looking imo.
Ngl, I like the class outfit changes. It makes them look more classy. Not sure on Chance's change though.
If you like it, that is fine since that is an opinion. There are short clothes and long clothes that I like.

hope they add a few easter eggs, a few new spells/weapons, or just access some of them that you couldnt get in the OG dokapon.
