He didn't said it is going to get bankrupt he said it will get dangerous. Countries like USA, Japan are different. In simple terms when you give loan to USA consider it like a fixed deposit. Even with the lowest interest you know it's secure because the economy in these countries are stable. Developing countries like India, Bangladesh etc are different.

Venezuela 3.Japan ( debt to gdp ratio of japan is more than 269% ) Debt to gdp ratio of USA is 138%. Debts are considered good if u get it for low interest and investing on profitable assets.
Exactly, even India has a Debt to GDP ratio of almost 59%(approx). So it does not matter what your Debt to GDP ratio is. Instead, what matters is from where the loan comes, at what interest, for what cause and how profitable will my loan be in coming years. And for Sri Lanka, they were immensely unlucky with the lockdown and bad implementataion of those heavy loans

Except UP at 34% all other states are non BJP ruled! BJP did tried to reform farm laws especially for Punjab but rich farmers and middlemen in Punjab created chaos that even Rihanna, Greta Thunbeg etc who surely doesn't know what farm laws were supported them because of lobby. Later supreme court of India revealed over 80% of the farmers in India were in support of farm laws but unfortunately BJP behaved cowardly because election were ahead and agreed to surrender to few rich elites in Punjab who were controlling the game.

According to the latest data available with the Reserve Bank of India, which compiles state government finances, the UP government has outstanding liabilities worth as much as Rs 6.5 lakh crore, as estimated in the state Budget for 2021-22.

This is 38.3 per cent more than the Rs 4.7 lakh crore debt it inherited when it took over in 2017.
The bulk of this debt mountain is owed to financial institutions, such as banks. These are called market borrowings and are taken at hefty rates of interest.
According to sources in the state finance department, a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on UP government's finances, released last month, pointed out that of the total public debt at the end of 2019-20, Rs 1.99 lakh crore (or 47.7 per cent of the total) would be payable after seven years.
The CAG report referred to earlier made a shocking revelation.
