What people don't realise is that outsiders don't get the options of choosing between multiple scripts and characters. They have to hustle and reach a certain level of stardom first to even get content driven scripts offered. That's exactly why Kartik is doing movies like Freddie, Chandu Champion *now* . Because *now* he has reached that level where directors have started taking him seriously. Initially he had to do whatever he was getting, irrespective of whether he personally liked it or not, or else just fade into oblivion. The nepo insiders can totally skip this step and appear oh-so-serious about the "craft" because they get good scripts right from the beginning just because of the connections they have or the surnames they bear. @shankarchail2510 I have known Kartik for 6-7 years and after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 there's an immense hate for him. The audience is so hypocritic, that they complain about him being only able to do comic roles and when he chooses such roles which are out of his comfort zone they don't watch it. He's the only outsider currently being at the top

What people don't realise is that outsiders don't get the options of choosing between multiple scripts and characters. They have to hustle and reach a certain level of stardom first to even get content driven scripts offered. That's exactly why Kartik is doing movies like Freddie, Chandu Champion *now* . Because *now* he has reached that level where directors have started taking him seriously. Initially he had to do whatever he was getting, irrespective of whether he personally liked it or not, or else just fade into oblivion. The nepo insiders can totally skip this step and appear oh-so-serious about the "craft" because they get good scripts right from the beginning just because of the connections they have or the surnames they bear. Outsiders and insiders ke journey bahut alag hote hai. Hating an outsider for not doing content driven movies is like hating a poor man for not having 5 course meals like the Ambani's. And then there's something called negative PR too. Insiders are never happy to see an outsider outshining them. The hate, the narrative that he is a PR-made Star has mostly been spread through paid PR campaigns by his rivals. Good thing is Karthik seems smarter than Sushant and knows how to counter these. Hope he gets more opportunities to shine and establish himself. 😅

It is easy to spread hate when you're not faced with the ground level reality everyday. I not a huge fan of Kartik but I respect the hell out of him for carving out a niche for himself and more importantly being financially successful while at it!! As an outsider that is no small feat but at the same time I acknowledge, purely from a craft POV he has not challenged himself much and experiments like Freddy, Akaash Vani, Silvat, Satyaprem Ki Katha and Chandu Champion hint at a much bigger potential!!
