Hi Carlo, great video ! I have something to ask you: "How can we be `amateur DJs` just using Spotify songs ? " I really dont wanna have to pay another music subscription just to play a little bit for my family. (i bought a simple controller (Hercules Inpulse 200) that i don't even use anymore because there is no way to get the music's ! Thanks ! !
You know, I've been listening to DJ Jazzy Jeff's live sets during the pandemic. And the more I listen to him, the more I notice it's more about the music and less about "DJ tricks". I get that everyone has their own style, and folks like the DJ's mentioned at the start of the video cater to a different crowd that DJ JJ, but what Jeff does best is track selection and energy flow. If you nail that, then the "tricks" become less important.
Jazzy Jeff’s transitions are not that great. He just echoes out and drops it. Not smooth. He’s too hyped up. There’s a lot of djs better than him. I fall asleep listening to his sets.
@@Marlonhernandez19828 You gotta actually go see him live in person. What he does on UA-cam or IG live isn’t a real showcase of his skills. He’s just playing music. He really doesn’t have anything to prove at this point
Got to say, that visual notes in the tutorial parts are really great. You also hit the sweet spot between energy and seriousness. Great teacher, thanks my friend!
I know im a year late, but I find it impressive that even after you practiced all of those hardcore "show off" Techniques yourself and won championships with them, you still emphasize the fact that less is more. Humble and knowledgeable. Thank you. Got my first turntable (ddj200) with your help.
Of course! Gotta start with the basics, then you can combine and play around with them once you've really nailed them down. Congratulations on getting your first controller!

I only got two months of practice in but with your help I'm already surprising myself at what I've been able to do. Tons of love my guy! You're the best!
Anyone recently obsessed with using stems to transition mixes? Keep those melodies and vocals over a new beat, or vice versa. Seamless and smooth like butter.

As an alternative to slipmode could you not just load the same track into the 2nd deck and then use that for any scratching, beat juggling, looping vocals etc ( without affecting the positioning of the track playing). In the same way that you’d juggle or play around with 2 vinyls of the same track.
