This is, for lack of better words, really charming. The Folk Art Style lends itself to charm! Thank you!
Shana!!!! I know this video is at least a year old, but I just recently found you! You are ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY TALENTED!!! Oh. My. Lanta!!! Can’t wait to try this one !
Thank you so much for your kind words I’m so glad you found me too. Happy painting!
I love folk art and I love the cool colors you used. Really pretty painting. Thank you!!!
#replay. I love this style with adding the white! I’m enjoying your channel. Just starting out at the age of 69. ❤
So love your style!
Beautiful 😊
I love this. Blues and greens are my favorite go to. Thank you for sharing!
So glad you like it, Diane. Thank you for watching. I love sticking to one side of the color wheel to create a whole piece.
If you come to Washington, know that (similar to Oregon) the weather and landscape changes dramatically depending on west of mountains versus east. If your friend lives east of the mountains, you might be surprised at the landscape.
I love these colours. It puts me in mind of my mother's kitchen in the late 60's. She very cleverly managed to blend avocado appliances (that she was stuck with), and turquoise print upholstery on her chrome table set, "antiqued" her cabinets in a shade of olive. Some funky flower power wall paper featured all the above palette. I have to hand it to her, she was an avid quilter with an instinctive eye for colour and pulled it all together on a budget! I will have to try this painting in her honour! Thanks!
What a fun story, Susan. I’m so glad this color palette evokes such a sense of nostalgia for you. Thank you for watching.
Loved doing this! Tip…. If you tape your paper to a cardboard you can still turn it to paint your leaves
This really is rather gorgeous. Look forward to what you do in coming videos.
I always look forward to watching your videos. Love your colour theory too. Folk art is becoming one of my favourites to paint now - and thanks to you Shana. With appreciation from Vancouver, Canada
Your demonstrations are great, always positive, encouraging and ver relaxing. I wish you could also show how to paint the blue picture with the house ☺️.
I'm a keen follower from Israel.
Thank you. 🙏 I will have to go back a see what the blue painting with the house is. Crazy to think I published this video 2 years ago and I can’t remember what I had for dinner yesterday 🤣
I like this style very much. I am a beginner from B.C., Canada
Love this! I have been watercolour painting for around 12 years and I use this 'folksy' style in lots of my greeting cards. I guess I am more of a loose painter verging on abstract-realistic, lol. If that makes sense!! Love your painting, colours are spot on for a cool tone painting. New subscriber from England UK!
Another great video! I love primitives and folk art but never thought I could create it. Your videos have so much variety in the subjects you present to us. I also love your choice of color palettes -- original, beautiful and fun to work with.
Oh I was so excited I thought you said food color painting so now I’m curious 🌹❤️💯
I love this piece! Thank you for sharing.
Just love this, Shana...the color palette, the style, and I so appreciate your relaxed and accessible way of teaching. You really help it all feel doable and fun. Thanks so much for sharing yourself and your gifts. Just subscribed a few days ago, and excited to make my way through your videos. 🙏
I am soooooo happy to discover your tutorials in the new year! I am now obsessively watching everything! You are great about teaching the color theory details in an approachable way! Thank you!!!
Welcome to the channel. Thank you for watching. I’m so glad you like the little color theory tidbits. Happy Painting!
This is a great way to learn blending, and great for small projects. I make a lot of postcards. Most are not keepable quality... so I was astonished when a dear cousin actually framed a solstice card I sent her! She keeps it on her bookshelf...I was 🎖 honored....!! Thank you for another good video! I'm learning a lot! 👏👏👏
That’s so awesome. Doesn’t it feel great when someone treasures your work.
love this Liz from New Zealand
Love this painting .. The Folk Art style is my favorite water color style so Thankyou !
This was a lot of fun to paint and I liked adding the white details at the end. It really made it stand out. Thank you very much!
So pretty ❤
Come visit Tennessee !
We have beautiful nature here .
Just found your channel.
Really enjoyed it and your art is happy. Love it ♥️
Thanks!
Where I live it was below zero for two weeks prior to Christmas. We are speaking Frozen Pipe weather.
Reminds me of Tolkien's watercolors.
Just found your channel this week and am enjoying this style. Looking forward to what you will be working on this year. Caught your live earlier today on another tutorial and really enjoyed it. I think this style can let you focus more on color harmony rather than on realism of the subject. I think it gives you more freedom to "play".
This looks very much like Amanda Clarke
Janice M...watch The Danish Painter...she teaches technique to loosen up your painting of landscapes.
Just found your chznnel and loving your work. Wondering approx size of this piece of paper you used. Love the cool colors and i am from Georgia and ezrlier this week we were at 24 degress in March...go figure!😅😄
Thank you for the paper size. ☺ Have one more question...the olive green color that is the bottom color is a little confusing because it looks like it has more yellow than blue. Is it a cool green because of the colors you used to mix? I feel like i learned a ton so thanks again.
Hi Inc searching à sketchbook wich one do you used? Sorry m'y english not very good. Thank you also for this demonstration it's m'y firs time with you...but not the last :-)
Thank you for watching! What language do you speak? I love meeting viewers who speak different languages or are from different countries.😁 The sketch book I love right now is a Baohong watercolor sketchbook. amzn.to/3BWObUd
@@shanacirce2667 Hello... Thank's I'll check if I could buy one mayby on Amazon.
I speak french 😊 have Nice day and Happy Holidays 🎅
Wish you for 2023 Health(santé) and a lot of new video and viewers and 👍 on UA-cam
What is this non bleeding white I've heard a number of times on various videos?
Warm and cool colors always confuse me. Being from the PNW, green means spring/summer, which I associate with warm! And brown means muddy winter-cold.
Cool and warm colors are tough for lots of folks. It’s difficult, once you’ve associated a color with a feeling, to break that tie. Throw in the idea that cool colors have a arm versions and warm colors have cool versions and it’s Mayhem! 😜 keep working at it and it will start to stick. Maybe think, cold crisp dewey mornings in the spring for green? Or green pine, which is associated with winter?
Liked it better without foreground branches
You can definitely leave them out out and make it all your own! Happy painting! 😀
🤗🤗❄❄🤍🤍🌲🌲
Thanks!
I really love this style!
