This sound is too much! I rehearsed this drum several times alone in the studio until it was perfect, but like the live version, I practiced a lot to play it at my band's shows from 2014 to 2017. This song is amazing

Man that kit sounds fantastic! How do you get your toms to sound so full? Mine always sound like I'm hitting tupperware bins.
Hey Myke! I’m glad you like sound of toms. I just tune them by ear, very low. And that’s it. I use remo emperor clear heads on the top which work very good for me. And I hit them quite hard. Rest of work I do with DAW.

excellent.. check out the download 2007 performance too. there was some variation in the fills which worked much better Thant the studio version.
Thanks! Before I start working on a cover, I watch available live performances. The final version of the cover is a combination of fills played in the studio and live. Of course, sometimes I also add my own ideas that sound better in my opinion. My idea is to play the song in a way that best reflects the style and sound of Nicko McBrain, which is not easy.

Siemanko :) W połowie roku 2022 zrezygnowałem z podwójnej stopy, więc raczej cięższe klimaty odpadają :)
@@Guzzik17 ale niektóre na pojedynczej też się da ;) zawsze możesz coś tam delikatnie zmodyfikować :D czekam na kolejne filmy! Z moim ulubionym Wasted Years na czele!

Fix the snare and its perfect
Thanks of suggestion. What kind of sound the snare should has? I’m looking for right sound but how many people, so many opinions. :)
@@Guzzik17 you could add some reverb. It's so dry
@@szhasteinn9061 I added reverb, maybe not enough. I hope someday I will find the right proportions. :)
I think the sound of the snare is very good, I like when it's dry , natural powerful, and cuts well through the mix
I never heard Amati drums before. May I guess the tom sizes? From Left to right......6",8",10",12",13"14"16" and 18" Floor Tom. Is that correct? Is the Bass Drum 24"x14" in size?
You guessed right except for the bass drum which is 22"x14". The toms are not square size. They are less deep. I'm waiting for a custom made 15" tom with with original Amati lugs with te same sparkle finish. I think the next video will be with the 15" tom.
@@Guzzik17 thanks a lot for the answer. Yes, Nicko uses all toms in square sizes, but those are huge and not easy to handle and to position. When you have the 15“ Tom, then you have a real 9 Tom Nicko kit. Great great. I am looking forward to the next videos with the new Tom. Have a nice weekend.
