People talk so much shit when fighters talk about retirement, they start going on about fighters being scared so they retire early. But these same people complaining would never fight professionally and at the high level of competition ufc and other fighting promotions have. A lot of these athletes train their life out just to make some money and feed their families. Most people would be happy with a one off big pay day and feel like they don’t need to work another day in life if they’re already financially set for the rest of their lives. Let these fighters do what they please

If he wins again then that solidifies him as number 1 pound for pound greatest to accomplish so much in such a short period of time. Beating the best wrestler in the ufc then the best striker? Chimaev can retire in 3 fights if he can pull this off!

You only need to defend it once to be considered a true champion by most fans. Defending it 10 or more times simply puts you in an elite, potential Goat category of its own. First challenge is winning the belt to begin with.
