Dad is 11th Course NDA/ 9th Course JSW. He was in ABLE Squadron. He joined at Dehradun/ Clement Town in 1954 and was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1957. His other bunk mates were Gen Surinder Singh, Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Pant, IMA Commandant, my Mama, Capt BB Ghosh, 2/8 Gurkha, died in 1962 China Conflict, and Baba Gp Capt KK Dutta, Vir Chakra in 1971. His fondest memory is of Ragda, the discipline & the British Sgt Major, who was the Drill Seargent. Everybody from his course, before and after, remember this Drill Master.
Mr.Gaurav Arya( retd) is a competent personality to head the MOD i .e as RM bcos he is having indepth knowledge about defence services , taking interview of tri services chiefs asking all indepth questions which we never asked to our immediate boss while in uniform or not having insights ! Hats of to him, request national leadership to view his knowledge as a asset for nation building!
This was one of the finest, most genuine conversations I have witnessed, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was refreshingly free from politics and took me back to my academy days, reminding me of the rigorous training we went through to prepare for the complexities of today’s social challenges. Reflecting on how those experiences shaped us to face the present with strength and resilience was truly inspiring.
A very interesting podcast about the living, breathing monument of National Defence Academy. I come from a family of ex-NDA officers and have been lucky to share space with so many ex-NDA officers, it is always so interesting to hear about this institution. A big thanks to Air Mshl Sanjeev Kapoor for sharing the performance statistics of Women cadets and officers, I am sure it makes many of us proud to get credit for a job well done.
