My local rink had two of them. One for each turn. One completely broke down a summer or so ago so they got all new Intimidators (1.0s I believe), and moved the tempest to the center. It is a neat effect.
I just bought the original tempest on eBay. I love this light. When I used to go glow bowling with my friends, I would always see this monster of a light hanging on the ceiling shooting super bright beams everywhere. It's very well engineered,
i have 2 questions =) , 1) its a good idea getting one of these, with all the led and laser fix out there on 315$, used ? 2.) if i put this one in my structure, they will blid people, not sure...?? also, it is there its too much diference if i hook up on the ceiling or mounting on the structure on vertical position....
I just bough a tempest my self. trying to figure out what dip switches need to be set in order for it to dance by its self. can you please tell me what Dip switches are turned on? thank you for your time.
Had one of these in a club i did lighting for back in the early 90's. worked on it forever ,never was able to get it to work. too bad because i think it would have made a great addition to the show. A new improved led version would be cool if someone would build it.
They have one left at the local skateing rink that is completely broken and not fixable once i get it i might be able the repair it if it cant be fixed i might be able to convert it to a discarge type light idk yet if icant i will just hang it up in my room

Great video but it probably would have been better if the camera was at an angle so you really see the light rays in the fog. Great video none the less.
you should have just put it on the floor facing up or at least put the camera on the side. You cant realy see what its doing very well with it facing directly into the camera. i just keep getting blinded by different colors.
growing up I saw this light in the ADJ catalog and always dreamt of what it might do - this was so cool to see! thank you for posting this gem!!!!
Surprisingly versatile and unique for a centrepiece. Most others just have the moving mirrors and limited sequences.

That is totally best suited for installation in the top corner of a venue, or as a center piece effect....awesome dance floor coverage!

Any of these being sold on second hand sites like eBay and stuff but a working one or one thats needing replacements

what kind of motors does it have?
if im not mistaken the Chavet Aurora is the exact same fixture. Poor qualtiy..Too many things can go wrong with these..And they get hot!
