these are pretty. how does the earring fit in the ear hole? i’m only asking because most hoops have the closure point at a horizontal angle not pointing straight up
Good question! This style has the hole in one side so the perpendicular parts fits right up through it. It's a little easier to see in the how-to on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/easy-diy-beaded-earrings-crystal-hoops/ Hope that helps! Jennifer & Kitty
I know this video is 7 years old at this point, but I have a question regarding the wire hoop finding itself. The link you provided for amazon listing doesn't match the one you are using it the video. The hoop finding you are using in the video has super dainty eye hole for closure. Where is it from? I cant find it anywhere. I can only find wire hoop earrings with that little loop at the end where you dont bent it. I think the one you are using in the video is so pretty and dainty, basicallymuch more elegant. Is there a specific name for this closure? Im desperate to find it.
Hi Michaela, When we linked to the item on Amazon, we also couldn't find the exact hoop with the dainty closure. Here is a version we just found online: www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h201695fn Could that work? Cheers, Jennifer & Kitty
@@TheONeilSisters Hi there, thank you for your quick response. Your new link is way closer to what I could find myself so I will definitely try it. Thank you for your time I really appreciate!
Hi Veronica. With this style hoop, you unhook them and slide the unlooped side into your ear. It has a little bend so you just rotate a little until the bent part is on the back of your lobe. Then slide the bent end into the little loop to secure them. Does that make sense? Cheers, Jennifer & Kitty
Hi, I would like to know how you attach ear wires to these hoops. I tried beading some hoops of this style and I never could get the hoops to "look right" on an ear wire. I ended up going with the hoops that you slide apart at the top. Do you have a special method that you use? Thank you very much! :o)
+OneVeryHappyBird We wear the beaded wire hoops directly through our ears just as you see them. But if you wanted to hang each hoop from an earring wire, you could feed the hoop through loop at the bottom of the earring wire. Then use your chain-nose pliers to turn the earring wire loop so the beaded hoops hang the way you want them to. Does that answer you question?
Yes Monelle! It's the last thing we do in the video. Here's the complete how-to on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/easy-diy-beaded-earrings-crystal-hoops/ J&K
Oh, we understand your question better now! Thanks! After feeding on the beads, we bent the wire 90 degrees (at the 3-minute mark in the video). Then to wear them, you slide that part through your ear and hook it through the small hole on the other end of the hoop earring. You don't need to bend it any more than that. It will stay hooked just from the single 90-degree bend. Does that make sense and answer your question? Jennifer & Kitty
Great question Nicole. You can add a crimp bead to the wire on either side of the beads. We show how to do that in this memory wire bracelet: runningwithsisters.com/delicate-beaded-bangles/ Hope that helps! Jennifer & Kitty
Hi, I would like to know what thickness the hoop you're using? I was planning on buying hoops of 8 mm thick but i don't know if the 2mm beads will fit?
Hmm..we're not sure, but we looked up what gauge wire goes through 2mm beads. The hole size is .92mm so we think 24-gauge should work. Be sure to test your beads though. J&K
Hi Virginia, We made these to wear as hoop earrings, just as they are. The complete how-to is on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/easy-diy-beaded-earrings-crystal-hoops/ If you would like to make the hoop dangle from an earring wire, check out this pair we made on the blog: runningwithsisters.com/color-block-beaded-hoop-earrings/ Hope that helps! Hi Adam, The hoops are 30mm across and the wire is .8mm thick or about 20-gauge. The complete how-to and materials list can be found here: runningwithsisters.com/easy-diy-beaded-earrings-crystal-hoops/ Cheers, J&K

@@TheONeilSisters - Thanks, but please look again ... it's not there. The video ends when you connect the two ends of the hoop. :)

@@TheONeilSisters - Yes, I just wish there were a more elegant way to do this ... the wire is pretty stiff to work with. Thanks very much! :)
Maybe you can try a different brand that might have a little softer wire. Ours was not too hard to bend.
Good luck!
