Gotchard is kinda different than most Kamen Riders of his type. His Driver lets him to combine two cards with different powers to transform. But, each card is only compatible with only one card and can't be mixed with a random card unlike W, Build, and Geats. In Build's technical term, they can only be used as Best Matches. I guess it kinda make sense since his power was created through alchemy. In most depictions of alchemy, you need the right combination of ingredients or materials to make the desired result. If not, it'll be catasthropic.
