This is incredible! Don't think I've seen many videos of anyone using an op1 like this. Can I ask if you build track together with the op1 or do you use another software and then just download it to the op1?

Thanks heaps Stuie! Everything is produced inside the OP-1. I’ve got a video of exactly how I make these sets on my UA-cam Channel somewhere. That’s probably what you’re after. If you check it out and have any questions just gimme a yell 😎.

Is the OP-1 Field worth it…?
My main drum machine is the Maschine+ & I love it. I’m obsessed with its workflow.
My first drum machine was the original OP-1, hated the Mono & hissing noise that was always present in the background.
Chopping samples was also very slow & it always sounded more lofi/quiet on the album output.
Is the OP-1 Field worth giving a shot…? Switching / mastering the OP-1 Field would save some space on my desk. I sample from vinyl typically.
My idol is Madlib, so I push each piece of gear to its limit beyond brick-walls.

Hey mate, based on what you’ve described I wouldn’t recommend it. You still don’t have much say over attack/release in the drum editor and the workflow is the same. Major improvements are stereo and more tape space. I find it to be a simple and immediate workflow which is why I enjoy it. The sampler for me is fast, I’m also sampling straight from vinyl. If you love the Maschine I would stick with it 🤷‍♂️

@ damn. I completely understand that. I definitely love my Maschine+ no doubt.
I figured they would have over-hauled the OP-1 entirely. I heard that there was like 100 new features but it comes off somewhat the same as the original OP-1.
I’m just an entirely different beatmaker than who I was when I started out beatmaking with the original OP-1.
But yeah thanks for the information. I appreciate it. 🫡
