When making ice coffee, try to add some ice cubes in the cup and let the espresso brew right in on the ice, it helps to keep the acidity to a minimum. I use to do this when working in a coffee shop, it will be worth a try if it makes the espresso smoother.
Been thinking bout getting myself an espresso machine at home for so long but still can’t decide which one I should go for. Thanks for the video it’s really helpful to me
I'm waiting for my Touch to arrive next week and I really appreciate the tip on cleaning the wand into the jug. No one else has mentioned that and it's definitely something I will be doing as I hate "splashy" spots all over. LOL
I’m thinking of buying this for my parents as a Christmas gift, but since it’s quite pricey I want to make sure the machine has a good lifespan. Have there been any issues with it now that you’ve had the machine for a considerable amount of time? Thanks!

This is the overview of this machine that I was looking for you. You should all stuff I wanted to see at the exact pacing and detail that I wanted. Thank you!
Q: can you heat/froth at the same time its brewing? Q2: Is it loud? Q3: Easy to clean? - you only showed the milk frother being cleaned. I like just black coffee - trying to decide if the investment is worth it.
Yes every bean will be a different setting. It’s important to have a scale so you can dial it in. For a double shot, milk I usually just do it half way between both of the lines inside the milk frother. It’s really your preference, whatever you prefer.
Hi, we just got this machine, but are trying to grind more for an extremely dark espresso, like Cuban café and don’t know where to go with this. Any suggestion? T4s

Hi Jeremy! I’m planning to get this machine to start my small coffee shop after the barista training. Do you think it can make more or less a 100 cups per day? Or do you have any other machine recommendation with cheaper or same price as Breville barista touch? P.S. I just realized I was using my daughter’s account. Don’t mind this account please. 😅
So i do appreciate the video and this helps a lot. I am going to buy one of these. But you day for beginners a lot and i wonder do you prefer having something more manual or does this seem perfect to you and still gets the great flavor of coffee without the more specific settings like the manual

The Breville Touch for the money is pretty unbeatable and certainly makes espresso is good as the majority of the Baristas considering they're in a time crunch and really don't care. I'd say it's biggest advantage other than it being a integrated unit from a reputable manufacturer is its automatic milk frothing. Most households have maybe two people that are hobby like for making espresso and the remainder are not and this bridges the gap. The stock portafilter is pretty awful and it's something that I would recommend you replace before anything else. Not only is it difficult to clean but the plastic is acting as an insulator. I prefer a bottomless portafilter. The advantage to a bottomless is that you can see if you're having channeling. Also I don't leave excess beans in the hopper, I only weigh out single dose. There is a aftermarket bellow that you can get or as a hack you can leave one corner of the lid on and compress air to force out remaining coffee grinds. That way you ensure that the freshest coffee is being used. My bang for the buck gear: 1. GeeAnkok Premium 54mm Naked Bottomless Portafilter. Normcore also sells a OEM looking version, but I like the wood. 2. Normcore WDT Distribution Tool V2.1 3. Normcore V4 Coffee Tamper 53.3mm - Spring-loaded 4. TIMEMORE 2022 Scale (you can spend triple for an Acaia Lunar Scale and get a 10% better scale); you need a fast, simple and flexible scale. 5. IMS Precision 18-22 g filter basket B62.52TH28E 6. Crema 54mm Dosing Funnel (move portafilter in a circular fashion when grinding; distributes as good as a WDT) 7. Dosing cup e.g. Crema 53.4mm Dosing Cup; I pre-weigh my coffee beans .. So any 'cup' can be used. 8. Breville Mini knock box, or larger if there's a lot of people in your home. 9. (Opt) Saint Anthony Industries Bloc Tamp Station. There are a lot of similar organizers available. 10. (Opt) Normcore 53.3mm Coffee Distribution Tool ; after using a WDT, I use a distribution tool set higher to even out and start compression. 11. (Opt) Breville Fresh & Furious Blender is a great matchy matchy add-on for espresso-based mixed drinks. It does a good job of chopping ice and making delicious frozen drinks. Next step up obviously is an expensive Vitamix.
.. I didn't buy any of that stuff just for the heck of it. A WDT removing clumps and spacing, flat and even coffee compression .. in essence, proper puck prep to avoid channeling which is essentially straight water shooting through your espresso beans. Absolutely as a huge and profound impact on taste. In addition, without a scale, you have absolutely no idea what your ratio water to coffee bean yield is which has a profound effect on taste. A knock box versus what hitting it on the side of your garbage pail? We have a nice little niche area for our espresso and coffee station, and I don't like having to dig through a drawer to whip it out multiple times a day. So I'll say this to each his own.
