The real Socrates does not talk about the three beds. Actually it is in one of the Socratic dialogues were Plato puts his own words in an imaginary Socrates.
One final word. Romanticism did not begin as a reaction to the Industrial Revolution during the late 17th Century like taught at university. Romanticism actually was the very first philosophy in the world. Romanticism began with the first King and Queen, the first Monarchy, whomever these people were. I see this original Romanticism as Cultural Romanticism. Now, I see Individual Romanticism as a reaction to the Industrial Revolution which was seen as bad because it was making Human Beings to be like Machines. Thus, Rousseau wrote "Emile" where he argued against the Industrial Revolution Impersonal Machine and in favor of the Human Mind, especially the childlike personality that we had when we were kids. Can't get into this any deeper. Enjoying your presentations. Excellent. Arete.
Comprehensive, succinct and lucid. Excellent speciality because you mentioned dates of transition. This is so helpful for all lit students as well as net because we don't have good libraries or we can't buy the books. So your efforts are a maximal help to students
Also I got a second rank in the university. I lost touch with literature as I worked as a trainer in a bank. So I listen to all the lit lectures many of which are quite good but yours was excellent. So please keep doing your good work. I'm also your humble student
If there are Three Orientations--(1) Universe; (2) Author; and (3) Audience--then, how can there be Four Theoretical Criticisms: (1) Mimetic Theoretical Criticism for Universe; (2) Expressive Theoretical Criticism for Artist; (3) Pragmatic Theoretical Theory for Reader; and (4) Objective Theoretical Criticism for the Text? There was no Objective Orientation; and thus, there can e no Objective Theoretical Criticism, right? Objectivity is beyond Orientation. Objectivity is not Subjective Rationalism Romanticism Culture but Objective Empiricism Materialism Science. Thus, when considering a piece of art objectively, this means no theory and no criticism; but, as the-kids-say, It Is What It Is. In other words, there is no message. There is no angle. There is no latent content. There is no group of people favored over another group of people. God is NOT on your side. If there is a God, then God is God, with no preferences but generic and without personality, maybe like Spock on Star Trek, although Spock was a Vulcan, whatever that is. I guess what I am trying to say is that I do not like the words "Objective" and "Theory" together. Unless!!! The Theory is a Scientific Theory that is always true but has yet to be completed 100 percent, like Particle Theory before the Higgs Boson was discovered; when then, Particle Theory became Particle Science, 100 percent completed and proven. Regardless, thanks Professor Sumitha for making your work public and free. Delbert Blanton, Kokomo, Indiana, USA. (Didn't read-over this closely for typos/mistakes. sorry.)
Not "Nature" nor "Universe" but "Culture." Mr. Abrams' messed-up here. Art is a representation of Culture. Thus, an AI can never create authentic art because AI has no Culture.
@@drsumithavictoria i mean u can also use hindi or punjabi bcz we can get this content also From the book as well that is why i was saying if u will use hindi or punjabi then that will be easy 4 us for the better understanding.
