hi! they quite literally cant do anything abt the lag because the games code is so outdated, and the only way to fix it would be to physically rewrite the entire thing, which they CANT do. thats because the entire game relies on the base code to actually function, thats why msp2 exists, and works much better in terms of lag, etc.
the game also wasn't originally programmed (on desktop) to be played w/o a flash player so thats also why the lag has gotten so bad in the recent years, I BELIEVE
you gave me a whole new perspective on this!! i feel like it would have been better if they didn’t create a whole new game and labeled it as msp 2 and just put all their budget and efforts into fixing the code and making a new msp 1 that allows you to transfer everything over with the maintenance being done that needed to be done. i have no idea how code works so idk if that’s even possible but ty for the comment!
i play on mobile & the game is so laggy i have to close the app and open it again several times just for the clothing shop to properly load in 🤧 its actually bonkers
