Love how the "no beans" 501 was 3-4 seconds faster than the other two 😁
High string just means higher rakers. Still a runner!!

I appreciate that but it isnt the fastest when you put it in the average users hands. And the other saws are still stock, worked over that 346 will eat that 501 in it's current condition.
However i am not sure how my current 4910 builds compare to a good 346.

If it’s a 350 hybrid there’s 2 very important spots where air leaks form. The bearing cap seals to the plastic case and The cases can be slightly twisted/ not square. I’ve had to sand and scrape them flatter especially near the bearing pockets. You need to seal it with a good sealer. The other is the intake boot/ impulse and what I always recommend is to assemble it in 3 pieces. Boot-partition wall and clamp-flange. That way you know for sure the impulse nipple didn’t tear or get misaligned. Just a couple things I’ve learned along the way when building them. This is really helpful when putting the power to those cases. Anyways sweet builds man.

It is a 350 hybrid, i will be pressure testing it this weekend hopefully. Then probably tearing it all the way down and re-sealing it. It is sealed with threebond 1207D, that is the echo spec sealant for clamshells. Bearings and seals are new. Light film of sealer all the way around the outside of the seal as well.

@@Super-Dave-Outdoors I didn’t know if you’d been that far or not into because the factory did not do a very good job sealing them so I figured I’d mention it.

Yeah it is bugging me big time, might have to sleep on it and try the other 2 carbs.

Jeez, all this made me realize is the 346xp isn’t all it’s cracked up to be lol

That 346 is stock and has a running issue gremlin. After work they are mean. Chain and wood have a lot to do with timed cuts as well, power number isnt everything but it does help.
Your 492 pulls 1k more rpm under load than that 501 does, just fyi.

@@Super-Dave-Outdoors you definitely built me a monster lol been trying some square filing and raker adjustments this last week and that thing just eats!

When i pick up another chassis i'll be throwing the same numbers as your 492 in it for a work build.
Planning for chain testing down the road here, gotta get test logs and my grinder set up. Probably be a month or two before it happens.
