Varric's voice actor, Brian Bloom, has a ton of voice over credits across animation and video games, it's quite impressive. He was also in the A-Team, played Brock Pike, and helped write the script for the movie. There's a fun jab at his extensive voice over work when Col Smith (Neeson) calls him a cartoon character early on in the movie.
This was a really informative review. This is a deep discount game for me. Larian and Owlcat have done such a good job making compelling CRPGs; Square, Vanillaware, and P-Studio have done the same for JRPGs; and games like God of War and Elden Ring just round out what can be done on the Action to RPG continuum. I just think EA, like WB and Ubisoft, impose absurd constraints and demands on their studios and it leads to market tested mid (and sometimes awful) games. However, I am glad that this game came out in a fully working state, so it won't fully sink Bioware after Anthem and Andromeda.
Iirc your character is out for a few weeks after stopping solas and his ritual. Also were you guys paying attention to the dialogue and readables? The Venitori are acting how they are(the church massacre) because they are working for the elven gods. Also youre just wrong about Neve, she is the most interesting, shes a detective and magical researcher. Almost everything she says in the passive dialogue is a half truth or vague answer.
