Sorry to hear about your Grandfather, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I remember you working on his red Honda scooter. Love the channel, keep up the hard work
Sorry for your loss, one thing that’s obvious about your Granddad is he had great taste in bikes. Those Gold Wings were really well built. Would love to see a full resto

Sorry for your loss, Joe. I'm sure your pap was very proud of you. I've learned so much from watching your videos and appreciate the effort you put into them. the different camera angles and making sure we see every detail. not to mention the editing. Thank you.
Sorry about your Grandfather....I just lost my uncle a week ago to cancer...he also was the first person who got me into bikes and working on motorcycles....keep up the great work buddy...
Sorry for your loss Joe. Your grandfather left you a legacy of something you love doing for the rest of your life. He was obviously very insightful. Regards, Bill H
Agree.. collectors love them. I guess the yellow one is even rarer. I'm 62 years old and have only seen a yellow one one time before. The most common is red or blue. One of the best bikes ever that came from Japan.
Love that fact that you are not afraid to tackle the hard things that bike had some hard work would have scared of me. But I guess you have grown into one hell of a mechanic... Good job buddy keep rocking it!!!
Hey Joe, your Grandpa is at peace now and no longer suffering. He'll live on in your memories.. About those series 1 Goldwings, they are super smooth and robust bikes that'll do BIG mileages if looked after. Very heavy, but the mass is close to the ground so once on the move very stable and smooth to ride. I like those early ones best. I think the weak spot is the water pump seals, so watch out for that. They're super complex bikes and I'm impressed with how you tore into it without any problems! Ace video , thanks for the entertainment!
The '75 Goldwing is a motorcycle that has always been at the top of my list to own. A massive machine without all the crap that was later dumped on it. Best wishes and TY 4sharing
Man that sucks to hear about your grandpa... especially knowing he's what got you started doing this kind of stuff. Glad you were able to get something of his that you could work on and make it your own. Very cool bike tho! Can't wait for the next video! Love ya brother, I'll stay tuned in from Greensboro, NC!
Sorry for your loss. It's great that you are working on a bike that he held on to. Just a quick note to tell you that 54,000 miles on a Gold Wing is nothing. They could easly go 200,000 miles unless the counter has been around a couple of times.
Sorry for your loss! I'm happy your grandpa left you those cool old bikes to save. If anyone can save them, you're the best person for the job! I'm glad he could steer you towards your purpose :)

Sorry about your grandfather man. I went through the same thing November 3rd just a few months ago. My grandfather taught me alot about engines and welding and I'm glad that I have these experiences to keep with me.
Your grandpa had great taste! I owned a '79 wing that I rebuilt from the bottom up. It's one of the smoothest running and lowest maintenance bikes I've ever owned. Mine had a full fairing and Honda saddle bags and a large top bag. Many a long fun drive.
Condolences to you & your family upon your loss of your grandfather. I'm sure he's proud of you from above. I'd get both of them, one for parts. Thanks for the video, Joe!
Bought one my first year in the military - a nice yellow. Bought a silver windjammer fairing and repainted the bike to match. Rode for several years and the only problem was it loved to consume points. Changed them every 6-months and good to go. Awesome bike. Appreciate all your videos.

I had a 81 Goldwing 1100 I tore down like you just did. It was time consuming to say the least. At the end when it was back together it was total satisfaction. The hardest part, if I recall, was putting the timing belts back on so the timing was correct. The cams are quite difficult to get lined up due to a spring like action moving the gears. You'll see

First and foremost, I'm sorry to hear about your Grandpa. He seems like a great man and you say he got you started working on bikes. I'm sure he would be proud of you. This gold wing is a beautiful bike. I love how bike and beastly the old gold wings like this were before they started adding all the fairings to the later models. Well done getting her freed up and I can't wait to hear it run in the next video. It will be a special moment when you take your Grandpa's old bike for the first ride in many years and maybe your first ride on it.
It's amazing how on the very day I was reflecting on my grandfather's life that you upload a video of your grandfather's old bikes. Sorry to hear of the passing of your grandfather Joe.
Condolences to you and your family for the loss of your Grandpa. Your grandpa knew what he had in both those bikes... Those Honda 1000 Grand's were some of the most durable and smoothest bikes ever built by Honda. I had one. Truly a part of motorcycling innovation history. Looking forward to hearing this one run again.
Hi Joe so sorry for your loss. My grandpa was also responsible for getting me interested in mechanical repairs. Your a truly a great human keep up the good work.
sorry for your loss, i think just from the family connection angle of these, you need to give them both a shot to get going again, thanks for the great content as well!!
Sorry about your granddad. He knows you will do him right by getting that bike going. Good luck Brother. I love your videos you make great content. ❤❤❤
sorry for your loss dont leave the other one there great bikes restore them both then ride with a friend parts are still around your gramps would be proud
Wow! A Gold Wing 1000cc. Ok Joe get this Son of a Gun running buddy. Memories of your Grandpa and do it for us. I want to see you ride this on the rode. Good Luck! 54000 miles is certainly a lot. Your Grandpa must have loved this bike.
Yes, I'm also sorry for the loss of your grandfather. Best wishes on getting the bike running and going. Looks like a great project with special meaning.
There's a guy here local that brings his every spring for service, it's the identical twin to that one you've got. Heavy beast, great running bike. He bought it new in 75. Takes great care of it, A1 condition. Can't wait to see how you come along with that one. Good luck and your doing a great job.
First and foremost, my condolences for you and your family. You may want to check out the production numbers on the yellow bike. Should be a 1976 and that was the only year for that color up until 2018 or so. I have one very similar to it. I don't ride much anymore but I bought it about 25 years ago with less than 5000 miles. It has Samsonite luggage and a Windjammer fairing. When I retire it's one of the projects that I have collected over the years to restore to original condition. As many have suggested they are great reliable bikes. You will want to change the timing belts right away as these are interference engines. Also they will sometimes develop a leak at the water pump, which is usually an o-ring that is no longer listed as available for the GL1000. Good news was (is?) the kit for the GL500 would work. I look forward to seeing more on these bikes.
Sorry to hear about your grandpa, I've lost my fair share of grandparents over the years and it's always no fun. As far as the goldwing goes, I had a 1982 GL1100 for awhile. They're infamous for the valve seals going out and smoking on start-up. Turns out, its just because of how the bike sits on its kick stand. Everything rushes to that side of the engine and wears it all down. While you're in there anyways, I'd go ahead and change those and your timing belts out, especially at that high mileage. You also may check out the 34 pict 3 mod. It swaps all the factory carbs for one old VW style carb and makes it all so much simpler. Sweet bikes man! That'd be a great his/hers combos for you and Jade! Love your videos and I've learned a ton from ya. Sorry again about your grandpa, goldwing guys are the best 😪
Sorry for your loss Joe I love those vintage Hondas. If you can get them both running. That would be great. If the yellow has all its parts. I would love that one 😍
Both those bikes are nice and complete by barn find Goldwing standards. Usually they're pretty hacked up, but your Grandpa obviously cared about them. Here's hoping you'll save them both. Good job getting it un-seized! I have a red '75 and there are a couple videos of it on my channel if you need motivation at any point. Highly recommend Randakk's Cycle Shakk for GL1000 parts, particularly carb rebuild kits. Also a factory service manual is indispensable. Looking forward to the next video!
Sorry for your loss! I had a 78 wing i was trying to restore but do to circumstances i had to sell it before i got it running. Key point change belts first. Second the carb system is complicated but doable. Final drive, change the fluid and lube the spline. Best to you.
Awesome man! Both of my Grandpas were heros to me! One got me an old briggs engine to tear into and the other gave me an old craftsman mower. Little did I know it would start a career that I'm still in 35 years later. Grandparents are golden man and I'm who I am because of them. Sorry to hear about your grandpa man, we are truly blessed to be lucky enough to know that generation. Thanks for the great videos!
Wow! R.I.P. Pop... I love watching your movie mate, this has been my favourite. Thankyou for sharing your story ❤️ much love and respect from Australia 🇦🇺
Had a friend of mine who bought a new old stock bike like these, it was still in the box from 1975 and he bought it in 1984. 3 months later a drunk kid ran it over with his car and totaled it.
You gave me the confidence to go out and buy my first couple bikes. And taught me how to work on them, as your grandfather did for you. I’ve since had 100’s of dirt bikes and atvs. As well as a couple side by sides. Thank you for spreading your knowledge and sorry about your grandfather
Condolences, sorry about your Grandpa. You should restore both of them, he kept them for a reason. Thanks for the great content, and I can't wait until the next video.

I love those vintage Hondas. If you can get them both running. That would be great. If the yellow has all its parts. I would love that one 😍
If anybody can get it running it will be you, sorry to hear about your grandfather passing, as always awesome video!
My Condolences about your grandpa.
So sorry for ure loss brother.🙏🙏🙏
Wow! R.I.P.
OMG
Awesome bike and video. Looking forward to part 2. Vinnie says I'll drop by and supervise and then I get a ride on the gas tank.
My condolences to you and your family and all who knew him

Condolences for your loss Joe.
You gave me the confidence to go out and buy my first couple bikes. And taught me how to work on them, as your grandfather did for you. I’ve since had 100’s of dirt bikes and atvs. As well as a couple side by sides. Thank you for spreading your knowledge and sorry about your grandfather
RIP to your grandfather His bikes are sweet
