Sad to see those ghostly abandoned buildings. Such a sweet, kind-hearted local lady at the lions roundabout. That is extremely rude and inconsiderate of those Chinese people in the Cinema. If I were there, I would probably yell at them - Turn off your damn phones! 😆
I have spent many months there 10 years ago . the chilled out small beach town with many on the beach cheap wooden hut restaurants/pubs , bamboo furniture with the waves hitting your feet , $0.50 beer , swarming with young care free backpackers , drinking parties everywhere , cheap hotels and food . Now it's soul less , empty , overpriced concrete city .
Over priced? You can still have beer for $0,5 on beach and eat good quality western food for $3 dish. Local food even cheaper. Good hotels from $30 / night. That's overpriced?!?
@@BradBaxTravels It's not. I live here. For example KFC prices exactly same in Phnom Penh. Grocery stores prices are same in PP and Sihanoukville. And I said, you can find food options from $0,5 to $100 just like you do in Phnom Penh. The islands are most expensive part of Cambodia. For example very basic quality pizzas are like $8 when in Sihanoukville you can find proper italian wood fire oven pizza for $5 (made by italian chef too).
thanks for sharing. You basically summed of Sihanoukville. Haven't been there since 2008 and i dont expect to come there at all. I think the Chinese had high expectations that it was going to be the next top destination for the Chinese and not for any other tourist. Totally agree with you when it doesn't feel like Cambodia. There are some places in Phnom Penh where its highly concentrated Chinese, and i get it. I think some places are losing its essence
The Chinese builders ruined this once beautiful tourist hub! China builders did that too in Johor Malaysia! China building their own cities in other Asian countries failed and ruined the places
I haven't been back to Sihanouk Ville since 2015 and I've lived in Cambodia for almost 20 years. And I have no desire to ever visit the city again. I have many great memories of the city before 2015 and don't want to ruin those memories.
Its right to say Cambodia is small China and they proud of it
Sihoukaville just didn’t feel like Cambodia at all
No only the government and the richest people are happy. It’s all stolen land sold to Chinese.

Yeah crazy, non stop on phones and playing there own music in the cinema
@@BradBaxTravels Unbelievable. They will never change🙄
Sounds and looks terrible ill be giving it a miss thanks 👍
Those aren’t Chinese prices
they are meant to dissuade non Chinese tourists
Which is funny because they don’t have many of those ether
500 ghosts towns in Cambodia 👻👻👻🎃👻🎃 👻👻

They don't call it scambodia by accident.

I agree, now it is very bad from what we saw and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Very overpriced also which is why we left after 1 day☹️

Thanks for watching!
Did you guys see that peking duck restaurant inside that mall? The price is outrageous. I think it was over 60 dollars for one whole duck 😂

Was all dirty roads when i first went there
Use to be the most amazing place on the planet now it's shitville
Can they build the Funan canal through it to help out a bit?
There's hardly anyone in that mall and yet it sounds full that's why there's a weird vibe. They are playing busy mall sounds thru speakers.
So strange , weird place

They went home because online gambling became illegal. It's now a Chinese Naval Base
That and the real estate crisis wiped out all their money
