wow this is extremely helpful! Not even my animation school taught us constraints to this degree. Thanks a lot!
This is just brilliant channel, why haven't I found it earlier
I found this video 6 years after you made it and it still stands. Thank you
Wish I saw this video earlier! This is the most clear tutorial I've seen so far.
Best constraints tutorial on UA-cam!!
Thank you, i like it how you explain it first, before you start the project. 😄👍
Holy Lord . Thank you very much for such a great video and effort . I really appreciate .
I've been struggling with this for a while! Thank you so much for these videos, I feel like I've improved so much thanks to this series!
Thank you so much! I’m doing a shot with the character swinging a bo staff so it’s mostly one hand holding it, sometimes both, then switches to the other hand for a few frames while the primary hand changes positions on the staff. I’m probably biting off way more than I can chew, but this video will definitely help!
Also, I wish I knew about constraints when I did a walk cycle with one of the hands on the hips haha.
Exactly what I was lookin for
I love how clear and concise your videos are. Love your channel. Thanks!!
Thank you! This really helped me constrain an object from one hand to the next; after picking it up, then dropping it. (challenging myself with my animations atm). :D
PauliePauliePaulie2 happy to hear that!💪😁
Great Video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Working on a project at school and this video really helped! Thank you for making it
thats really a big wake up call!Great Tutorial ever!
Thanks, very simple and thorough! I just about had a mental breakdown trying to make sense of the constraints in maya, they're fairly different from blender, going from 10 years in blender to less than 1 month in Maya has felt harder than using my left hand to write....
Thanks so much for this tutorial! concise and very practical. I've watched a few of videos about constraints and yours is BY FAR the best one.
Life Drawing thank you 😊
Your tutorials are so well done thank you so much for post and sharing with us.
The evidence was so compelling that he felt constrained to accept it
This was absolutely amazing, thank you!!
You are a great teacher! But please speak slower, cause the brain needs time to process. And again, the way you explain things as far as the instructions is wonderful! Thank you very much for all your work! :)
exactly!
This is not a classroom lecture... just use pause or you can repeat the part....
You can slow down the playback speed in the UA-cam video settings
I quiet agree, but since this is a video, the drawback of speaking a little bit too fast can be resolved by pausing or slowing down the video speed. And not forget to mention that they added a precise english subtitles. And yes the way she explains it is really good and contains a lot of information in just 14 minutes video.
Wow ! thanks a lots you're very helpful ! all of things i surch is in your tutorial ! i Gonna follow u for the rest of my life lol
This has helped me so much, thank you!
This channel is amazing! Thank you for this video.
Thanks for these helpful tutorials. I love your animation style
Yooo, thanks for this tutorial! I just needed a super quick recap of constraints and this was super clear. Thanks again!
wah...God knows I needed this...thanks
Thank you this tutorial. Very plain and understandable
you're the best thank you a lot
Very very informative tutorial solved most of my doubts.....thank you ma'am
Very helpful, thank you very much

very good tutorial :)
great tutorial ...loved it !!!
Thank you
This is an amazing information thank you so much for sharing it
Thank you so much for sharing it
Extremely Useful information BUT Too fast. This is for beginners but they can't learn with Pro Speed. plus your speech pace is also fast. like you want to complete it under a gun point. I definitely gonna use written version.
Thank you very much for all your videos.
Hardik Lakhalani thanks for the feedback 😉in the description below the videos I always add the written version link 👍
This is very helpful, thanks! (:
Thanks for the re-upload.
The sound was quite strange in the first video.
Baitot Memasa actually I didn't change the audio... I hope it's ok!
Thank u very much
So useful!
I have run into one issue, when I constraint a model in maya the blend parent does not appear so I can't turn it off for animation :/
Written and Illustrated RECAP of the tutorial available here ;) iwanttobeananimator.wordpress.com/2018/01/25/tutorial-11-maya-constraint-recap/
great
re upload?
i guess ill post my request again
if possible, please make a video discussing/explaining how beginning animators should start off and make their way to complex character animations.
again, nice video. thanks!
Bijay Pandey sorry there was a mistake and I had to re-upload it :) I'll see what I can do for your request! ;)
:)
animate a ball (1.bounce (work on your physics, spacing and timing), 2.make it alive (make it change direction, give it a personnality)).. then a pendulum (work on your offset), then a ball with a tail (the FLOPPY!!!), then a ball with feet (have it change its weight distribution from a leg to another.. do a walk cycle and a run a cycle.. also have it start and end the walking and the running), then a ball with feet and tail (have fun).. then very simple characters without facial rigs (that's when and only then that you'll start to worry about constraints more complicated stuff)..
my advice is, try to forget animation a bit, and do a lot of posing (talking about character animation)
just poses, and make them most expressif as possible
I suggest different key poses from sport moments (any kind of sport, even chess)
it will help you a lot for making key poses layer
Very informative. Thank you. But what if i want not to pass an object from one hand to another but to throw it to other hand? For exapmle juggling the balls? I tried to manage this using passing method but it didn't work. I don't know how to throw an object and move it without being dependent on any hands
谢谢了
Cool ! Thank you!
Have you a little instruction how to make Parent Constraint for two hands which both change positions on the box(some object)?
Thanks a hundred times for your videos they are extremely comprehensive and useful, I am trying to animate a basketball scene where a ball is bounced and passed between 2 players using all there hands and I am a bit confused on which techniques I should use, please can you advise me?
Excelent thank you
Helpful....
thank you)
one Question Ma'am, How do I get this simple flat shaded shadow effect. i mean is this toon shader? If possible I'd appreciate your detailed answer. thanks.
Great lesson, thank you so much for it! I like the RIG you use, is it free or available?
Thanks! The rig is related to my channel and it’s not shareable, sorry!☺️
Hi very useful and well explaoned!! Could you explain the constrain to use in the case of a character riding a horse? Thank you very much
Silvia Taborda Hi! It's depends on the case and what he have to do. Example: if you just have a character riding an horse (so he never gets on/off from it) I would simply move down the cog ctrl to match it with the root ctrl, then I would position the character on the horse using the root and constrain it to the horse so that you are free to move the cog to move him up and down or anything else he will do. 😉
И это смотрел сам Saven Bulls 🤣🤣👍
Keep it doing
Hello, when I do an Orient Constraint of an object to a locator I can make it turn fine but only on his original position, if I translate the object and after that I translate the locator (so far this is what I want) I can not rotate any more on his one axis, the rotation is diferent
😍😍😍
Good tutorials
where i can find those characters ?
thank you
For the tutorial where one item is switching from one hand to another, how does one do it with referenced items that has a rig? I can't parent the item under the 2nd hand Locator and not sure how to go around it
Fierying you can constrain the object to a locator, if your item has double ctrls you can constrain the main to 1 loc and the other to a second loc and manage the constraints bend on-off to pass it between hands
are these rigs free to use? is there a download link i could get for them if they are?
6:59 Parent Constraint vs Parent (P)
My blend parent doesn't appear, even though I have set the key on the ball object. what should i do?
Benedictus Brian I explained what to do at 11.50😉
@@iwanttobeananimator-animat5526 it work. Thank you so much 😁
Hi Chiara ! Thanks for these wonderful Tuts. I have an issue. i'm using Maya 2018 and when i want to release any constrained object, i switch the 'blend parent' attribute to 0. BUT what happens is my Object just jumps back to its original position where it was before constraining. Help please.
Unsettled ramblings mmm... did you set the blend parent at 1 in the last frame where you want the constrain? (So you should have one key on 1 and the following at 0)
@@iwanttobeananimator-animat5526 Yes ! I did. Im animating a crane basically which picks up a box and then its about to drop it but catches it mid-air. I have successfully done it till first parenting constraint by keying 'blend parent' from 0 to 1. Now, to make the box fall out of crane's hand i need to turn the constraint off. so, its 1 to 0 again. but doing so my box goes back to its original position (on the ground) rather than staying in the mid. Thanks for helping out ! I think they changed the settings in maya 2018, maybe?
Unsettled ramblings I would suggest you to parent a couple of locators to the object and use the locators to create the contraints but...before re-do the work you could try to ask it in my facebook group, maybe someone there has the solution😉m.facebook.com/groups/521390254972426
Sure, Thanks .@@iwanttobeananimator-animat5526
i need this in BLENDER version
i need all of these videos in your playlist in BLENDER VERSION
please make it BLENDER version or give us LINK like your videos in BLENER version, please....
I NEED IT MOST....
it is a good video but it is too fast to learn and understand as i am a beginner.
I'm confused!
😧🙄😦😐😫😩😕😟🙁☹️😖😣
Can't understand anything. Its been explained extremely fast.
Come Down and take a preth
fast...
Too fast 😒...
u talk waaaaaay too fast
What if I want to change the position of the hand that contraint with the object? example I animate a man and use his hand to touch the face of another character then I want to change the hand position to touch the shoulder instead but everytime when I set the blend parent back to 1. the hand return to the same position that I save the keyframe.
The evidence was so compelling that he felt constrained to accept it
Thank you very much❤❤
