Thanks for the review! Was looking for a device that can actually record externally (from MP3 to tape) and I found this on Amazon, just wasn't sure if it actually works haha. Now I don't have to spend for expensive tape decks when I have this thing.
There are a lot of cheap cassette radios and cassette players on Amazon. The more functions a tape player has, the more complex its structure becomes. The greater the chance that a player malfunctions and damages the tape.
A truly remarkable am fm cassette radio. The earphone sound is terrific all around and the radio tunes in stations extremely well. However, since the dial is so small getting those stations is challenging.
Really a very interesting radio. I do like it. Seems to have a pretty punchy sound. It’s good looking, has full features. A great alternative to the standard recorders. Great video. 📻🙂
Very cool! You can record anything off the radio like your sporting events (football games etc) talk radio shows (Rush Limbaugh Show, DL Hughley Show etc).and music. What's missing is the weather band. You can record severe weather activity from the national weather service.
Is it a stereo or mono cassette player/recorder? And do you get stereo FM with headphones? I'm just curious. That was a nice video. I enjoyed it. (Hello from across the bay in Apollo Beach!)
My Retekess TR606 has a Stereo Playback Head. Channel Separation is tight because audio playback is mono. As if it were stereo, I tuned my unit for equal response from the two channels without a VU Meter by connecting it to a stereo amp to listen for equal response from the two channels through headphones as I had to very slightly tighten or loosen the Azimuth Adjustment Screw.
Tape deck has a stereo playback head, you can adjust azimuth for separation between channels, and the headphone jack is a stereo headphone jack although output is mono.
Azimuth adjustment is not for the separation of channels, it's to align a head to a track, regardless of whether the head is stereo or mono. There are 2 screws which hold an audio head, one that has a spring makes the azimuth adjustment.
The TRRS plug of my Sentry Stinger HM282 ' phones fits in the jack! The jack must not be hooded then for the TRRS Tip plug connection to pass the TRS Tip jack connection.
From the manual: Recording function; insert a blank tape and press the recording button to record external voice or broadcast sound; there is a 3.5 mm microphone jack on the side; it is convenient for you to connect a microphone to obtain better recording effects. I don't know how good the recording quality will be.

The 'Memorex' tape was actually 'Maxell'. Looks like a decent bit of kit for 21st century taping.
