I don't know why but sometimes I think this show is mostly about Rachel and her superamazing talent although Santana's performances are almost always more powerful and meaningful, and, surprisingly, less self-centered.
Glee helped me through my mental illness so much when I was younger. And even years later, this song I remember listening to on the bus with tears in my eyes because it was the only thing that soothed me and made me feel empowered after exiting an abusive relationship and so I would play it on repeat. Nayas voice was like no others. I fell in love with her character on Glee and I hope her and Cory are taking care of each other now. Rest in peace baby girl, knowing your son will be taken care of because of the loving family and friends you provided him.
I think of this scene and specifically how happy and powerful Santana felt walking out of that subway every time I hear this song anyways and it always inspires me. Thank you Naya for being this to life. rest in peace ❤

I was 18 when I first saw this, I was having one of the worst years of my life. Due to personal circumstances, I couldn't visit my family in the USA or travel there. Finally, out of nowhere, that got fixed. And when I got to New York, and saw NYC for the first time, I swear I thought of this scene so many times. I was 28, just a couple of months ago. I had been through so much, but I was finally there, left everything behind and became a girl on fire. Glee might get a lot of criticism, but it was a magical show that taught many of us how to dream and never give up, and I thank my life I grew up with it. Also, Naya's voice here is a powerhouse. May she rest in power and in our hearts. ♥
I love Smooth Criminal. I adore Cold Hearted Snake. I LOVE Valerie. But this may be my favorite performance of hers. Its transitional. Its inspiring. I really miss her.

Santana deserved a happy ending in NY. She always had the talent and the drive. In my imagination, she grew up to be a successful performer with a happy home alongside Brittany and all of their friends.
I miss Naya I loved Santana yes every woman’s voice is different but hers is unique and different and has so much more meaning than Leah Michelle‘s I can understand why people couldn’t stand Lea Michele‘s character I despised her just like Santana did. Naya is definitely more talented and more pleasant to listen to than Lea. Lea may have a technically superior voice but Naya sounds better to me.
