Some compensate quality with quantity. If you use better metal you can have the same specs with thinner walls and lighter but equally strong result.Sometimes, less is more.
I think your a madman!!! The wheels never stop turning my friend!! What a neat set up that will be .wow. be good!! Hello to all the other subscribers!!
Innovation is important. I'm glad I just found your channel today. The reason i search UA-cam is because I found a gallon of Dolmar chain and bar oil yesterday, I was wondering if the oil is any good. Looking forward to seeing your upgrade and running dolmar chainsaw.
Well I see two things to keep in mind Harv. Some of those big bores don't idle too well if you get too far on the intake timing, and the base flange is as thick as it is for strength. But I like a challenge too so lets see it pop!!
of all the tools I own, my chainsaws are the most dangerous, require the most maintenance, do the most work in a hurry, and are the ones I most enjoy using. being from Illinois I hike up to Wisconsin to get my ethanol free fuel. drain my saws" gas tanks and run em dry after every use. they always start and run great. my Husqvarna 372xpw (circa 1970) is one gorgeous saw. picked it up from the Chainsawguy 6 years ago. regretably the man retired, hope he's healthy and having fun.
Now were building some saws love this content taking things that don't belong together and making it work that's hot rodding 👍👍can u open the hole up on the case's to help with rotation get it close to the counter weight on the crank if there's room get bell hopper to trim the base if you dont have access to lath or mill 😁
Wow, you know when someone is able to mix and match parts and make it work they are masters at there game! Some Uber lever chainsaw black magic going on here. Hope it like a cummins diesel!
I’ll give ita name. Frankenstein😆👍. Watch reciprocating weight on that. Keep your eye on the bottom of that magnesium crankcase after running it hard. I had one oversized that developed major failure across the underside. Good luck Harvey. Anxious to see it run. Gene
HARVEY I AM BEHIND YOU 100% I guarantee YOULL HAVE THAT SAW PURRIN LIKE A KITTEN ,TILL YOU PIN THE THROTTLE AND ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE ,LOOKS LIKE A COOL PROJECT GOOD LUCK TO YOU BUDDY
You need a Smitty 3 in 1 mill lathe buddy , easy to run and you could shave that down np. Your in master level now, look forward to seeing you solve it.
I love this sorta stuff I really do .. it will work U know it will.. dose it have the same stroke .if it doesn't is that why you haft to machine the bottom down so the piston reaches the top .. hahaha can't wait
you act like you know more than the engineers at dolmar, stihl and husky. that is one hell of a knee slapper right there. if i injure my knee because of you, i will bring a lawsuit against you! LOL
Jack has done a lot of things ... trouble is ... he won’t tell ya nothin ... even after ya put 1000 into his pocket !!! Been there done that with him ... look man these engines were made long time ago and there ain’t no secrets... just have to rediscover the knowledge from way back
d hamby yeppers and that’s HIS CHOICE ! I’ll exercise MINE thank you very much 😁 ... remember ... I OWN 2 saws he built for me years ago - a 241c insane-o and a 461R “early version” insane-o ... I put a little “hot-sauce” of me own into both of em ! And went from “zipped” to zippy-er ... just put out a video of me hotwoods 441cm (70.7cc) vs the 461R (76.5cc) and am right there (5%) whilst giving up almost 8% displacement ... me hotwoods with tuned intake took his 241c insane-os’ lunch money (no tuned intake ) by a considerable margin ... you pay 2x the price with Hotsaws101 ... you ain’t gettin 2x the Saw by no means ... and that’s the fact ...Jack ... tape don’t lie pal ua-cam.com/video/vFXSjeDDLx8/v-deo.html
Now your cooking with gas....390 series was good, but it was old hat too you ,this consept is unproven...if you get the skirt clearance , cyl to work out , I'd hate to see the carb beat you.....I doubt it will.....
54 mm bore 56 mm bore 12mm pin 13 mm pin i know i use this and this take a bit off here // bit off the skirt can not sleep ///the ports should be right ///lol i want this to work coz it be WOW WOW look out hang on /// i told you to bucking hang on
I guess this guy finally got his saw back, in pieces. Yeah, dolmar top ends suck so bad they are head to head w 500I
That 7900 cylinder is capable of a WHOLE lot more than you’re giving it credit for!
Some compensate quality with quantity. If you use better metal you can have the same specs with thinner walls and lighter but equally strong result.Sometimes, less is more.
Bump….Harvey, what ever happened with this. If it’s on UA-cam I can’t find it.
A OEM ported 7900 is a force to be reckoned with and takes a strong 660 to beat one.
I think your a madman!!! The wheels never stop turning my friend!! What a neat set up that will be .wow. be good!! Hello to all the other subscribers!!
Love the ingenuity Harvey hope it works. Keep lovin and being kind. 🌲❤🌲

As Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice said "Let's turn up the juice and see what shakes loose".
Well I see two things to keep in mind Harv. Some of those big bores don't idle too well if you get too far on the intake timing, and the base flange is as thick as it is for strength. But I like a challenge too so lets see it pop!!

I put my cylinder on facing the wrong way and my saw runs better now.

Did this work
I've started my own channel check it out
Never change height of ports...
Changes timing and flow design.
Width can be opened.
Did racing dirt bike engine s for decades .
How do you change timing without changing hights??
