There was this quote on instagram once " I saw you at your worst and i still think you are the best" . Bigbang never hide things for us, smoking , drinking , party . Never pretended to be perfect . They bring us freedom , they show us we can still make it even if we sometimes fail , make wrong decisions . You fall , you fail but you keep walking and you are loved with your flaws too . You dont have to be perfect to be loved .
"Haru Haru" was one of the numerous songs wrote by G-Dragon as part of BigBang's third extended play album, Stand Up, which came out in 2008. (The majority of BigBang's songs are wrote and produced by GD.)
So here is how I interpret the story in the "Haru Haru" MV. First off it's not a love triangle like some people first think. T.O.P was doing the girl a favor and they were trying to spare GD the pain of watching his girlfriend die. The girl and GD were in love and the girl got sick and she knew she was dying. She didn't want to put GD through the pain of seeing her get sicker and die, so she figured the easiest why for him to get over her once she was gone was to make him mad at her. So she came up with a plan and asked T.O.P. to "please act like you have feelings for me and that you are stealing me away from GD."
Essentially, the girlfriend was thinking that, "If GD is mad at me it will be easier for me to say goodbye and for him to get over me once I am gone." So T.O.P reluctantly plays along. That's why GD is so angry because he thinks his best friend is betraying him; and that's why T.O.P acts so smug to make GD believe the role he is supposed to be playing.
In the end, though, everyone realizes that GD needs to know what is happening and he should be there to say goodbye, so Taeyang goes against the girl's wishes and calls GD to tell him the girl is in the hospital and he needs to get there right away. When GD gets to the hospital T.O.P tells him what was really going on and explains that the ring he exchanged with the girl and the "proposal" he witnessed was all an act and the couple ring was really meant for GD. The girl never stopped loving him and they were all doing this to try and protect him from the pain of losing her, etc. The sad thing is GD didn't make it in time and the girl ended up dying on the operating table.
What you saw was a flashback of what it was like when GD and the girl were happy in their relationship. When you saw her cry and smile she was sad remembering the happy times in her life, which included GD. It wasn't the future, but it was the past. Or maybe what she wished she could have had if she had lived long enough.

Well I love that they don’t act perfect just to please anyone, not even to us their fans. Not robotic in their performances and just whatever as humans should. I watch a lot of idols starting to break out from their shells just like how BIGBANG is, in terms of fashion, music, lyrics even their socmed..I’m glad Bigbang kept it real. They are savage like that.

Yes they did. They asked what fans wanted before their last comeback as 5 and one of the most requested was that they would do synchronized dance and so they do it. Even specifically mentioned that they only do it because the VIPs wanted them to 🤣
They also go to multiple a few variety shows the VIPs wanted to see them on and.... mentioned it was because the VIPs wanted them to.
Bigbang Scouts were also filmed for the VIPs and there's this promise that they would do one and invite VIPs to have camping and BBQ together. Maybe when the time is right, it will happen one day. Well.... at least Top is keeping his promise with his wine ready to sell soon.
After learning BigBang my amazement from other boy groups are gone. I was laughing at myself. I thought i found the best one until i bumped into bigbang, they made me feel free beyond everything yet connected somehow i can't explain. This was totally my experience. I was so into cute guys or hot guys doing synchronized dancing back then, until I discovered BIGBANG. Now the only boy group that I like who dances synchronously is Seventeen, just because they're so creative with their formations using their numbers and they're self-producing idols.

I'll explain HARU HARU to you as it can be easily misinterpreted. The young girl knew she had cancer and was dying. She thought that in order to spare G-Dragon the pain of losing her, she felt that it would be better if he hated her and forgot about her. She asked his friend to pretend that they were going steady, which he did. Unfortunately G-Dragon was hopelessly in love with her and couldn't get over her. At the end of the second chorus you see her hair coming out in her hands. When she is in the hospital his friend calls him and tells him to hurry over. When he gets there his friend explains and lets him know that she always loved him but wanted to spare him the pain. Unfortunately it's too late.
That was so sad back then, but now when we look back the music video is so fishy coz T.O.P and GD are fighting and saying the lyrics at the same time :V The cringe and fun they must have had filming this music video

Nice! Even if I'm not a VIP, I love listening to Bigbang's songs. I guess it's a little easier for me to say this bec I'm a Blackjack I suppose. Their music can be so real and raw, happy and sad.
That is the difference of Bigbang to other idol groups and make them unique, because every performance of them, they perform as if it is their last and as if it is their own. Whether it is a festival, music show and even awards show. They always owned the stage that you will thought, it is their own concert.
Also, Bigbang is the first self produced group in kpop. So, yeah they wrote their own songs specifically GD is always the main producer of all their songs, even in their solos and TOP (the other rapper) always writes his own verse in every song of them.
Because YG CEO gave him homework when GD was still YG trainee, 2 songs before every night even it's lyrics only, said by GD 😂
Please check out Haru Haru live performances as well! Haru Haru is VIP's anthem! They stopped singing the original version after one year and they always sing acoustic version on their concerts. I love the arrangement during MADE tour and chemistry between members performances is amazing!

Haru Haru live version is so different and you will definitely love it. They made the arrangement different every tour and they only sing the acoustic version now.

Although there's this talk show episode 'Bigbang happy together episode ' here on UA-cam that can almost work as a semi guide. Plus you get to kinda see how they are off stage.

You got the meaning of FXXK It in Korean. The word doesn't literally mean the same in the english language. It's like saying I don't care, whatever or queue sera sera.
Regarding Seungri... let's just say, whatever you heard all over the internet or the media are mostly half-truths. He's not the bad guy or that evil person that people have been painting for years. I'm not saying he's an angel but the accusations against him, I wouldn't consider a major case. Mind you, I am not a conservative Korean, so I don't act like the negative collective thinking or narrow-mindedness that happens in our society. The real bad people were those people who took advantage of him. Even the members of BIGBANG were concerned over that for years. But Seungri tends to look at the best side of everyone he works with. That's who he is. That's how he was taught. In that 2019 fiasco, he became the biggest collateral damage.
Our collective society is great, but it can also be a problem. Korean media tend to take advantage of that.

Daesung actually plays the drums in a lot of the live performances of Sober. The groups that have been around a long time and are super confident in their live performances can do that at festivals. Super Junior's performance at A Nation was fantastic as well. Like Bigbang, they cut loose and made it their own.
Please don't make any assumptions about THAT member ( his name is Seungri btw) of you don't fully know the case , bcs you'll be hearbroken if you really knew what happened to him. So please don't make comments abt him at all , just friendly advice .

Jennie was featured in GD's M/V called "THAT XX" which was Jennie's debut. Also the two have a duet song called BLACK. You should check both the songs.
Oh goodness. Haru Haru. The story is that she knew she was dying so she broke up with GD to hope he'd move on without having to watch her pass. She asked his friend TOP to help her cement the breakup and he (and the other guys) helped her. They have a change of heart and think he should be with her when she goes, so they tell him but he doesn't make it in time to say goodbye. Keep in mind this was 2007 and the group wasn't a success at the time. Peak 2007 drama that put BIGBANG on the map. This was the song and it established GD as a songwriter and producer to be reckoned with.
BIGBANG live was and still is unmatched especially in Kpop. The freedom and energy on stage is still one of a kind. It's why after a while, they became the closers. No one wanted to come on after them because no one could match their energy (this festival they were the headliners though). They tried group choreo sometimes but it never sticks live and frankly, the members never care to bother with it (especially TOP 😂 my ult of ults). They let other groups worry about choreo and being synchronised but they weren't and never would be and no one cared. The coolest thing about BB is the fact that they were never cornered into a particular genre or style. They did what they wanted and showed what they wanted and said what they wanted and either you went with it or not. It can't be overstated how influential they were on EVERYTHING we see now but especially tandem rappers. Every group wanted a GD & TOP. GD & TOP's wordplay is also still so unique (no one bends prononciation like Kwon Jiyong). Fashion? Forget it. Even today Jiyong is the standard and what he wears instantly become trend.
Solos are great so you should definitely check them out. I will say though that some (like GD's Coup D'état) have so much symbolism and personal touches that it would benefit from watch explanations after.

I am so happy that you are exploring the amazing enigma that is BIGBANG. I think their music and their sound is truly an iconic force that has shaped KPOP of today. I think if you wish to, i continue I believe going through more of their deep yet electric discography as a group then going into the solos would be great. Because you get to experience the full breadth of their sound as a group and then get to experience the nuances of the individuality which can be quite different but interesting to see and hear. Additionally, they are considered some of the best live performers in KPOP, so you got a taste of their live performances but there are so many more to see to truly understand that moniker of "KINGS OF KPOP".
BIGBANG did use to dance in their rookie days but as soon as year 5 of their career came they just said screw the synchronized dance we'll just enjoy the stage, bring the party, and involve our fans in our performance. I mean you would still get a choreo from them in their later years, like all 3 songs you've reacted to have a choreo, but it's a very minimal choreo and they are not synchronized dances they just wing it and let the energy and swag flow through. They may be the KINGS of KPOP but they sure are terrible at synchronizing dances, BIGBANG as a group is not known for dancing despite GD, Taeyang, and Seungri being amazing dancers themselves.

The other guy who "stole their time together" (T.O.P) was actually trying to make the boyfriend (GD) forget about the girlfriend, because she was sick and about to die :( he was trying to lessen the boyfriend's pain for when she was gone, but in the end he tells the truth to the boyfriend (and that's why he says "I'm sorry I lied"). The theory is that he was asked by the girl to be her new (fake) boyfriend so the actual boyfriend could get over her and move on when she passed away 😭

The thing that make Bigbang special is they write and produce their own song from day one. G-dragon, the leader (the fashion guy) is the main person in writting & producing all Bigbang song but other members also help especially Top, (the rapper with deep voice) he always write his rap lines. Thus their songs is very genuine, relatable, unique & authentic. I think Bigbang is the only kpol idols that dont do synchronize dancing in both mv & live. They mainly focus on music, stage presence and enjoying the performance. Please discover their solo works too. All of them are very good.

You looked down & didn't notice the scene in 'Haru Haru' where the girl's hair is falling out (and then missed it again when you rewound). That's why you were so surprised to see her in the hospital bed. The story was that TOP was the mutual friend of the girl who pretended to be her new boyfriend to drive G-Dragon away, because she didn't want him to worry about her and suffer as she was dying of cancer (which he didn't know about), and she knew she couldn't keep him away any other way. In the end they decided to reveal to him to at least give him a chance to see her one last time.

Yay more Bigbang!! Ah, the one who left Bigbang. His name is Seungri. He was an essential part of Bigbang. It will be very different without him (if they even make an actual comeback as Bigbang without Seungri, I have my doubts). I'm still heartbroken about what happened to him. I wish he would come back but it's not likely at least for a long time. And knowing what koreans, knetz and some kpop fans are like... not likely. It's a long and complicated story of what happened and why he left but to summarise it was a super messy and a very public witch hunt. And anti-Seungri people, please read all the way through before hating on me in the comments.
I'll just give a very general story of how it went here: It started in early 2019 with the burning sun club issues (sexual harrasment in the club, money laundring etc.) and grew up to be the worst scandal ever. He got blamed for doing ugly things that weren't true (and yes it has been proven he wasn't part of Jung Joon Young's chat case (secretly photographing girls and rape) at all and all the guilty people were sent to prison already) and some reporters even made things up to get bigger and bigger headlines and were later sentenced to prison for that. It got very dark and ugly. There were public appeals made for him to commit suicide... that is not ok. He was the most loved maknae one day and the next everybody hated his guts.
They started a full on investigation about everyhting about his life, work and businesses (he owned or co-owned clubs, restaurants etc) to find ANY sign or proof of his wrongdoings. They even forced him and all of Bigbang members to take drug tests, all were negative (south korea has VERY strict drug laws).They tried to dig up evidence against him for gambling (illegal for Korean citizens), arranging escort ladies for business partners in Japan and embezzlement for 3 years and got nothing. Now he got 1,5 years in prison because he admitted to the charges (god knows why, he's been adamant for the past 3 years and now suddenly he admitted guilty??). In my opinion they wanted to make a point in giving him some sentence atleast after all this time and made some kind of a deal with him. Someone told me that SK has a conviction rate of 99% which is absurdly high and the chance of you proving your innocence in court is extremely low, they only care about the numbers in general not if the right person is locked up. I bet he's very tired and exhausted after all this time and admitting and getting it over with was the best option for him.
The media has never cleared his name in the older charges about him so most kpop fans and koreans still think it's all him (they used his name at the start of the scandal: Seungri's club burning sun (he owned about 5% of the club and DJ'd there sometimes), Seungri's chat etc.) because it's Seungri, he was part of the most loved group and a very popular member and a megastar. The shock value was big. They got way more readers that way so the scandal was tied to him closely even though it never was him.
All the while the issues some of us are certain they wanted to cover with Seungri's case are totally forgotten. The SOPA scandal and the burning sun related money laundring cases spanning across South Korea that included some very important people in SK. I still get so mad just thinking about this whole issue and how Seungri's life and career are ruined forever. Some people are starting to belittle Seungri's effect on Kpop while he was in Bigbang because of this.
If you are guilty you have to pay for your crimes but the witch hunt that happened was way over the proportion of his crimes, which are at the level of gambling...
Sorry for the long rant. I'm just mad and heartbroken about this still and the amount of wrong info going around is still huge.
An essay to defend a criminal, as a woman I feel sorry that women like you exist tbh. Imagine all the women he hurt and here you are defending him because you can't get over the image he sold you. You should be mad and heartbroken for all the women he abused, instead you're heartbroken over him getting caught. Women like you are truly.. sad .You'd give away women's rights over a man any day. Truly sad and pathetic.

The lyrics were written by GD and most likely are about himself or the "celebrity", and how not to lose yourself in "fame". Only people who think "Seungri did this" will see those lyrics and think they're related to him or that it doesn't look well when "We know what happened with him".
P.S: Because I stopped after she made that comment and started looking at the comment section to see if someone talked about it it took me a copule more minutes to end the video.
Just take a hint at how she watched the 3 videos: GD, TOP, Taeyang & Daesung she stopped went back, talked about them, about their voices, etc. Seungri? Nope, just skipped him.. and that's fine if she doesn't wanna talk about him, but then she makes a comment so..

The biggest missing factors that people forget about his case is that SK has a 99% conviction rate (which statistically does not constitute a real fair trial system), public opinion has a strong factor in the justice system especially against famous people, and corruption/bias are also very prevalent in their police investigations. Also their plea bargain numbers are very high and their ability to appeal sentences even if they has pled guilty originally is crazy. How sad is that men who pled guilty to gang r*pe with tons of evidence are getting out before him, he who fought 9 relatively random charges for 2-3 years and none of those charges were even related those disgusting monsters. Most people can’t even ID the 2 idols which actually admitted to crimes against women and there was actual proof against them. Yet people swear he knew what they did but don’t accuse those idols’ own friends, family, or band mates of knowing. They even succeeded in their appeals because they admitted their guilt and are “really apologetic”. Yeah, im sure you feel bad but it’s bc you’ve been exposed as the disgusting piece of sewer scum you are. 😒
The only reason I can see why he pled guilty for the appeal is to simply be with his family in 2023 instead of 2025 or 2026. He can’t win when the system decides it’s all or nothing guilty.

The whole point of haru haru is she had cancer, you actually see her hair falling out just before you see her in the hospital. You paused on it but didn’t notice 😂.
So GD and her are in love but she didn’t want to put him through the heartbreak of losing her so she ended it and asked TOP to be her fake bf. I’m guessing she thought it’d hurt him less if she was already out of his life, but obviously they both loved each other so it was definitely worse in the end. Since he lost her twice essentially. By no means was it TOP’s fault though 😂.

I jumped around in the Kpop stanning new boy and girl group but there is always a time that I feel empty or bored and I just find myself searching for BIGBANG songs and videos. They are just different once you know them individually. The amazement you feel in the other groups feels like a simple feeling when you start knowing BIGBANG.

You should definitely react to some of the members solo endeavors, I think they’re an important part of how bigbang was established as each of the members are very individual and have their own unique impact, I’d especially recommend reacting to g-dragon and taeyangs solo music, they have some of my favorite songs
The song of BLACKPINK was probably whistle, GD was the mentor of Jennie, (the also have a track together, BLACK) and has always guided her as an artist. they’re often labeled as ‘father and daughter’ even though it basically makes no sense. But there’s indeed a similarity in the way they dress, perform on stage, and even rap so I guess it makes sense at a point.

So BIGBANG is called Kings or Emperors of KPOP because of the many firsts they did for Kpop: 1) GDRAGON (GD) first idol to write and produce for their group; in the past idol groups sang songs written and produced by others; GD opened the way for other groups to write and produce their own songs 2) GD created the first light stick in Kpop, no wonder it’s a crown with 5 points; 3) came up with the concept mini-album. They are not your typical Kpop group, in the beginning they made an effort to dance synchronized, but gave that up 😅, it was not for them. Group songs to get into: Tell me goodbye, lies, sunset glow, last goodbye (song before enlistment), bad boy, tonight. I think before going into their solo, you should get into a guide, to get to know them. Love your reactions, hope you feel better 🙂
1) is not really true, first gen idols like Kangta were already writing/producing for themselves in the 90s, GD just made it more popular

yes, your guess was correct. Jennie has the same line in "whistle" rap. it's YG style cuz you can often see their artists reusing lyrics of other groups by adding their own style like haruto and asahi did Lisa's "how you like that" part in "jikjin", Lisa did Bigbang's "loser loner~" part in "really really", winner did ikon's, ikon did BP's, somi did jennie's.....there are A LOT. It is a way of paying homage to the original group.
