Who knows if this man will grow up to be a great comic one day but his timing here is brilliant. I often come back here for a good old laugh during pandemic lockdown and it always leaves me chortling.
So well done! I played Lord Brockhurst in 1968 and again in 1972--but I've never seen it, until now. This 24funfunfun performance has a sparkle to it---comic talent in both actors. Oh, I'm remembering that I did see the film (about 1969), which I didn't like. It turned the innocent, breezy play into more of a dark piece--characteristic of that era. I admired the serious late sixties while still appreciating the fun & fluff of parts of the twenties & thirties. Call me....I feel a song coming on.....call me....irremediable, yes I'm irretrievable, throw in irregularity too.....(actually, don't call me--I'll call you). P.S. that last parenthetical, truculent throwaway line was intended to be heard as Groucho would have delivered it. P.P.S. I think DrBob's comment put it best. Also, I already have taken his advice. I am currently older than I was 47 years ago. Why didn't I think of this then?
Absolutely breathtaking! Thanks to you all for a brilliant performance. Your energy and conviction in the performance was mesmeric touch us all. Bravo and please extend this show beyond March !!!
I love this song, we did it at my high school, I did Lady Brockhurst, it was blast. Our director had the song end with him planting a kiss on her cheek and me walking in and discovering them, and he played it like he was afraid of my wrath, it was hilarious... The second to last night I walked in and I heard someone in the front row, "Awwwww she's gonna KILL HIM!!!!"
I always think the guy should be older, but he was very good, and she was spectacular. I've seen this musical four times. At one of them, this number was such a hit, they did three encores! They really did stop the show.
Great performance, I was in an amateur performance of this show a few years ago and the songs never get old!

Whenever I watch this fellow on here he reminds me of Mark Labbet, aka the beast, off the chase.

Dulcie was amazing in this; it's my favourite song in the musical!:')
I’m LOVING Lord Brockhurst!
0:06 that slap was actually epic the amount of times i had it stuck on repeat
lovely interpretation by both Dulcie and Lord B!
LB's wakadoos were the best part of that
