1980, i was 3 years old. I wish I was older and could have seen it live.
Many years later, this song and performance still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
How is this band NOT in the RnR Hall of Fame? It's a travesty. So original and influential.
We saw the B-52's two weeks earlier in Berkeley. The whole scene was totally electric and they were clearly finding their peak performance capabilities as evidenced here.
Ricky is at another level in the 80s
B52s and Devo were decades ahead of everyone else
i love how Cindy bangs her tambourine when she damn well feels like it xD
Man, I thought this was the weirdest song when I first heard it in 1981! I’d just spent two years in Chile as a Mormon missionary. Chilean radio had played bands like Blondie, the Knack, and the Police; however, so far as I knew, the Bee Gees were still cranking out disco hits in the US. The sea change that happened in pop music while I was gone left me reeling for several months, but, by the end of Summer 1981, the B-52’s were my favorite group.
i knew all the words, dances and movements. 46 year old male straight married with children.
I remembered when they debuted on Saturday Night Live- shortly after the Talking Heads-- back in the day when SNL got consistently good music.
Cindy Wilson is a legend
if this doesn't bring a smile to your face then nothing will.
After all of these decades, sadly, I still do not know how to do all sixteen dances. : (
This Song Is PURE Genius...In Every Possible Way!!!!
I exist in two forms: before this song and after this song. It changed my life for ever.
Cindy! Truly inspired vocals!
They do all 16 dances! It's time to do them RIGHT!
I saw them twice. The first time I was so high, I only just met the people I went with. The second time they did the V8 versions of everything. Magic.
Could I love Cindy any more? No. The answer is no. I’m 59 and I STILL crush on Cindy 😂
they were so fucking cool.
Cindy is brilliant on this song, she really nails it! Both girls are really so cool. They both have songs each of them excel at!
Yes. I love it when girls belt out lyrics the way Cindy does here!! Really good for rock and roll.
Actually this band is just really good. With Ricky and Keith really carrying the melody here and everyone else doing their own thing over it.
Sure miss Ricky!! 😢😢
For all the craziness of their music for the times, the rhythm section is pure rock and roll. Very much a guitar driven band!
The Church brought me here, but I always love the B-52's
Cindy 💥🔥😍
The moment she yells is so rock and roll.
I am proud to say I share a birthday with Fred. 🎂
1:05 best part of the vid. Even Fred felt that one!!!!!
My absolute favorite B-52's song.
OMG OMG That was THE SHIT. Kate Pierson was da bomb. And that song in particular, was my favorite. Much Mahaolos on the upload.
I'm learning a lot of dance moves watching Fred.
Fred showing off on his dance moves
Cindy is a goddess and my forever queen.
Love this album!! I blasted it loud in grade 5, and I'm blasting it loud here in my mid 40's.
+Dave Burton Bro this was a popular song when I was a teenager in the 80's. I'm 48 now
@@CityslickCaptain How funny. I am 57 and still blasing it out.
Awww. Ricky. :)
Keith & Ricky are absolutely killin' it in this version.
Classic, The B-52's and the Ramones made music so much fun in that time period.
Brilliant. The B52s were entertaining themselves as much as the audience.
Cindy Wilson's decent into madness, a mockery of Motown by a seemingly broken soul. The bass line is decending into a very deep hole aswell.
The banging keys of a child's toy piano as a hauntingly repeated organ strike keeps time like a warning becon .
Everything in time yet seems just a little off.
Her deep alto voice reaches down to a guthral growl at times before breaking into rhythmic horror movie like screaming lyrics.
It's dark , but brilliant. While the stabbing guitar seems to add some coherence and 60's style syncopation ,just another dark striking layer.
The best song the B52's ever did.
Then it reverts to the usual silliness the band is known for, but for a moment they achieved an original master peice.
Listing to it is like seeing a bloody car wreck in slow motion, you want to look away ,but keep replaying it ,uncomfortably.
Pots, pans, and all the silverware tossed into the mosh pit along with Cindy's voice and an almost steady beat.
My favorite B-52 song .................... greetings of Perú ...
All 16 dances
I only new the B-52's from the Cosmic Thing period. I am just now discovering these songs 44 years later!
I don't think I would have ever gotten into the B52s if it wasn't for Cindy Wilson.
Really SHE turned me on to Alternative Rock (New Wave/Punk).
Hell yeah
I was 5 years old. Seeing them play on the fairwell tour and rocking out one last time, all i could think of was: please please please, just one more time.
These guys were huge in the day. Great music. Did their own thing.
Ricky Wilson's genius on full display on this song.
Man, the sheer excitement it must be for them to play together!!
The B-52s were a live act to see.
Man I love this guys! I’ve seen them twice! And those two times were a riot party!!🎉 🎈 🎊 ❤️👌😎👍
I am proud to say I that share a birthday with Fred. 🎂
They all looked sooo good back then great year for them.. Ricky cool as ever Freddy and keith looked good. Cindy sexy as ever and kate lookin hot 2. The Girls with their cool wigs. Really great.
that guitarist is one of a kind
52's drop bombs :)
You see some bands, and think why? You see this performance and it make sense. They are a great band so much talent. Very under rated. Love this show!
SANDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SANDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SANDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY 🇨🇵💖💖💖🇨🇭
Contemporary Music... Hard Core B 52's... late 60's psychodelia Surf Rock based but futuristic New Wave in it's tempos... Off charts
That was absolutely freaking perfect!
I love the B -52s
Still makes me want to take toy piano lessons in the midst of a pandemic.
Anyone else remember this song from the PARCO commercial in Tokyo, circa 1980?
Always loved this song and the B52's! And Kate Pierson ...OH Yeah!...Always had a hot thing for Her and Her voice!
OH YEAH! Her also, Those beautiful big eyes and also along with a great voice!, This group would not be the same without Kate and Cindy!

They’re so charmingly strange, I’m 13 and I’m trying to get my friends into the b-52 but it’s not working.
Im 51 and i don't think i've ever met another person who likes them. (Their loss).
If i asked my friends to name 5 B-52's songs.... None of them could do it.
Well your cool. Idk about your friends lol. JK. I been trying to get everyone into the too. Love Shack and Rock Lobster is the only tunes anyone knows :(
C.I.N.D.Y. W.I.L.S.O.N.
I haven't heard this song is so long and this version is raw and rocks! Great stuff! All of the videos are classic!
I was there
When I hear songbird, I think Cindy Wilson…..singing “I ain’t no lim….b…urger…”….”i’m jus askin’”…”yeah..yeah..yeah..yeah..yeah..yeah” words never better sung in harmony
Magnificent raw energy.

Great performance. B52s we probably won't see another band that can compare
They ROCKED.🎸

Why don't you dance with me?

This concert is without doubt their creative peak and one of the most glorious moments in the whole post punk history. It's just so wonderful to have it here, thank you so much
