Underrated character bro that spike combo, 2 heat smashes, heat burst conversions, & just overall tools is strong asf in T8 I know Richie eating rn
I think im wired different. I have trouble with the "weaker" characters than i ever do with "top tiers". Ive never struggled with a Draganov or King, even at god ranks, from my first time playing them til now (no exaggeration, I can't recall a time where they weren't free wins) So even when I didn't get them a lot, I smoked them. Yet i have so much trouble with steve or Leo players or other characters no one talks about as much. Then folks be like "skill issue". But if that's the case why am I consistently destroying Fengs with a "low tier" and yal complain about him and say he's got the best all around stats? Cuz there's more that goes into tiers than just a characters tools.
unironically those top tiers you are playing against are carried
because you are being fucked by gimmicks. You aren't vsing the player you're vsing the character. Alot of those types of characters weaknesses are knowing when to interrupt a string, duck a high, low parry something, or sidestep.
Drag, Feng. Whilst at top of tier list, simply have strong key moves rather than strings or gimmicks. You guess correctly or play around timing and spacing you will have a good chance at winning.
Vsing something like hwoarang, you are there until the pilot makes a mistake, or until you interupt a string,lp,duck, or side step at the right time.
Those types of characters put a fuck tonne more defensive responsibilities on the player, so you have to be more active to beat them. That's why you lose to 'weaker' cast members. As once you have the answers to their strings set ups and gimmicks, they die for using them. As opposed to having simply strong key moves, like wr2 on drag, or good strong throws on king. They are the best at what they do in their respective properties, however victor wr2 far better than drags now, probably best wr move in game now.
Ngl I watch Richie, Madara, and Ex Kean is back at now. I'm really enjoying Leo in this game.

I always struggled with Leo (around Bushin lvl+), esp with all the 50/50s. If I'm against a wall, I just prep for the next game lol...

It's funny bc even with his back against the wall, Leo is still menacing with that uf1+2 throw. Reverses position even on break, and Lord help you if it CH you prepatch: unbreakable wall throw xx full combo xx oki.

Yeah, I wouldn't call them S tier. I'm not just saying that just because I'm a Leo main; it's because you can't really be carried by Leo. They don't have cheesy attack strings, they can be out poked, and some of their best mix ups can be beaten with a simple jab. You really have to take advantage of a opponent's playstyle to win, especially at higher levels. But Leo IS an underestimated character, that I can agree with. Play with some skill and a game plan, and you can do well with Leo. I just don't want them to get any major nerfs. They don't need buffs, they don't need nerfs. They're good enough as is, as far as I'm concerned.

Hwoarang is more "not okay" imo
I don't think hwo is broken maybe too much damage on 10f ch launcher and that annoying low but isn't overtly problematic like a lot of the other cast

Maybe it seems that way because I haven't played against/labbed her enough, but, outside of lows, a lot of Leo's stance moves seem safe. Like I said, I could be quite wrong.
Maybe it's just the way Richie plays, but it seems like Leo gets a lot of reward off very little risk.
Naw Leo’s stances aren’t that safe. Knk is -9 on block and bok is hopkick punishable if the Leo doesn’t do 1+2 for armor

As a Leo main since launch.. can confirm lol and I’m lowkey bad with him and still have a ton to learn about how to play him. He’s great in this game, VERY easy to pick up and play.

Okay so it happened to K-wiss, so I know I ain’t crazy. After a heat smash or heat rush/burst (unsure of the name) on block, sometimes even if I’m holding back I still get hit by stuff? Is there something I’m doing wrong or is it a bug? Great stuff K-wiss man btw. Loving the Hwoarang gameplay
Most likely a bug. Same thing been happening to me to the point where I can’t even block low attacks after being hit with a heat engager. (Except hellsweeps)

Hey K wiss I was wondering why in a lot of situations you to the 3, 2 ending instead of 3 ->4 ender. I know it's only 1 point of damage and the wall isn't breakable in most of these situations, but I'm curious is it an oke (sic?) Thing or another reason? Or am I just over thinking it. Hope you're doing well

More consistency, less overall execution for same damage plus gives better oki (if they stay grounded you can ff+3 or b+3. If they immediately get up, theyre forced on the defensive and a mixup situation)

Leo is maybe the most linear character in the game. Very easy to step.
