  • The case of Vishaka and Others v. State of Rajasthan is a landmark judgment by the Supreme Court of India. It played a pivotal role in addressing sexual harassment at the workplace and laid down guidelines for preventing and redressing such incidents. The case was decided on August 13, 1997.
    The Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) guidelines, also known as the Vishaka guidelines, are a set of guidelines established by the Supreme Court of India in the case of Vishaka and Others v. State of Rajasthan in 1997. These guidelines were formulated to address and prevent sexual harassment at the workplace until the enactment of specific legislation.
